The Bill Press Radio Show: Trump Tweets--Are They News

Should the news outlets be reporting on Donald Trump's Tweets as if they are  breaking news.

NO!!!

This is not news....Folks, this is why we have a carnival barker as president.

This was part of the discussion on the Bill Press Radio Show today.  Are the donald's tweets newsworthy and should they be talking about them the whole time.

Peter Ogburn made the notable point that fiance is involved and this may not stop as long as the networks are making money over this kind of information.

Readers, it is often said that Colonel Tom Parker, the manager of Elvis Presley, who was indeed a carnival barker had the ability to meet someone, a customer, and immediately know what to say in order to sway their opinion favorable to his goal.

This is who our president is--a huckster, a carnival barker, a media genius.  This individual managed to play the media, my beloved CNN to a degree that he ended up controlling everything.
Ronnie has always loved Wolf Blitzer

Let me give an example..........

Always watching the news with the run up to the election and the Belgian Airport crisis happened.  Unfortunately for the listeners and those wanting information this happened at exactly the same time donald and Ted Cruz were in a Twitter war exchanging insults about the "look" of their wives.

CNN had a panel about the elections, it may have been the night of a primary.......

They must have spent at least 30 seconds talking about the Belgian catastrophe, but no, they immediately went back to talking about the tweets of the waring candidates and their wives.

It was annoying and unfair to the watcher.  This was not news by any means but CNN promoted it big time.

Historian Douglas Brinkley commented later.........Hillary Clinton and John Kasich were the only two of the giant group running that made statements that were reassuring to the American public and sounded presidential and had a plan about what to do.

CNN and all of the other news groups made an error and the public is paying for it.  They fore sake actual pertinent information for ratings.

The networks dished the donald up for us but the consumers will be the ones to pay for it.

Shall we start with health care.....Planned Parenthood.

What is news--let the networks take a look now and reevaluate their coverage.

Good Show Bill Press--well done.

I Love Hillary

Yes, it's true.

I love Hillary Clinton and I have been waiting for her forever.

So sad after the election that I have just now started watching the news and that would usually be PBS or listening to a progressive radio station.

She is a strong lady and our nation is also strong and we will all survive in spite of the outcome but a setback may be in store for the Supreme Court and Planned Parenthood.  Those are deal breakers for this Hillary girl.

She sent this beautiful letter and I wanted to share it with everyone:

Chloe --

Before this year ends, I want to thank you again for your support of our campaign. While we didn't achieve the outcome we sought, I'm proud of the vision and values we fought for and the nearly 66 million people who voted for them.

I believe it is our responsibility to keep doing our part to build a better, stronger, and fairer future for our country and the world.

The holidays are a time to be thankful for our blessings. So let us rejoice in this season and look forward with renewed hope and determination.

I wish you and your family health, happiness, and continued strength for the New Year and the work ahead.

I look forward to staying in touch in 2017. Onward!

With deep appreciation and warm wishes, I am,

Yours,

Hillary

David Talbot Talks Watching The News, CNN and Alternative Networks

On the bright side...we can finally unplug from know-nothing talking heads like these. Our election season addiction to these blithering idiots reportedly filled the CNN coffers with gazillions of dollars. From now on, I'm spending more time with Democracy Now and Pacifica Radio shows like Doug Henwood's "Behind the News," which today offered a must-listen hour of truly smart people on the future of progressive America under Supreme Leader Trump. The consensus: we need to open a two-front war. One to block Trump. And the other to reclaim the Democratic Party for the 99%, beginning with a progressive takeover of the DNC. Failing that, we start our own party. November 8, 2016 marked the dead end of the politics of lesser-evilism. Listen to this show: https://kpfa.org/player/?audio=246095

copied from the facebook page of David Talbot.......

Roscoe Beauregard I have been promoting Pacifica, Democracy Now! and BBC NEWS ( I pay direct tv to get this source) and then there is the stream of FRANCE 24 English even thru their face page.. Many of us have shouted that the NETWORKS are owned by a limited group of investors.... I can get FRANCE 24 English thru an app called FilmonTV. there is a FACE page to this source as well... that is how I discovered France. FilmonTV.. (does not highlight)...

Chloe Louise Most of the so-called news posted by CNN about the individual in question was never really news but just trumpisms and sensational tidbits--but they played it over and over again I guess for ratings and dollars instead of the actual news. Two examples: during the Brussels airport bombing Hillary Clinton and John Kasich gave presidential remarks that were not only reassuring and honest but showed leadership. CNN must have focused on that for at least 30 seconds before plunging back into the twitter wars between donald and ted cruz about their wives that were going on at the time. Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley noted this. Recently, John Kasich went to Washington to promote TPP and talk to the senate with a crossover move in favor of President Obama. That barely got any attention--it was a shame because I thought that was important news and a pertinent issue. I wanted to hear more about it. trump took over the airwaves every day with nothingness or something disgusting and CNN fell for it hook line and sinker. trump is essentially a carnival barker, someone who is an expert and determining instantly what to say in order to get someone to fork over the cash or the vote in this case. that is his game, it worked, and now we will suffer for it. He knew the lie to tell, he knew what to say and the folks were willing to accept it. As mentioned earlier--let's see if he can reinvent the steel mills. I hope he can.

@Bakari Sellers: Would love to hear him speak at the Democratic Convention in support of Hillary Clinton

Bakari Sellers

Would love to hear him speak at the Democratic Convention in support of Hillary Clinton.

Well done last evening and yesterday on CNN going against the false claims of the trump group.

He speaks with passion yet never crosses the line of being inappropriate or saying the wrong thing on national television.

Good job at getting the message across.

Wish I could talk like that.

George Noory Update: Continues to bash My Girl Hillary Clinton

Last evening George Noory of Coast to Coast AM fame, the supposed paranormal themed late night radio talk show, continued his bashing of Hillary and Bill Clinton with his ultra right-wing guest Jerome Corsi.

George has been heralding Jerome's new book about what he feels are improprieties of the Clintons and insists his facts will be earth shaking.

He claims the main theme of his book will be used by Donald Trump in his promised speech vilifying Hillary Clinton and also being kind enough to shed light on this subject.

America's Date with The Devil: Is CNN the Maitre d'.......

Listening to news, usually CNN, and troubled about the political coverage.

Recently, on CNN after the Brussels incident presidential historian, Douglas Brinkley said the only two candidates to offer reasuring words and actually have a reasonable plan and sound presidential are Hillary Clinton and John Kasich.  Their panel of experts must have talked about that for at least 30 seconds and then went straight back to talk about Ted Cruz and Donald Trump and their wives fighting via twitter.

The 24 hour cable news stations have fallen for the donald hook line and sinker.  I guess it is ratings and he is a good story given policy can be a little boring.  Donald says something stupid each day and that is all they talk about.

At the end of the day it is really not news and the viewer is the loser.

Also, the other folks running for office cannot really talk in the same Archie Bunker lingo that the donald uses because they have to represet their voters as elected officials and if they said the things donald said they would be thrown out of office for being racist.

Why do they not explain all of that on the news, why politicians talk the way they do and the whole world is listening, etc.

Also, as the field narrowed I wonder why they did not have serious debates on the GOP side.  We know every detail of what Hillary and Bernie think and Kasich or Cruz could have easily held their own in debates--the donald--not so much.

Also, I wonder why donald was not called out as soon as he started talking about rounding people up because that is certainly not the stance of the Republican Party.  He never really went along with the GOP platform.

Why did they have their big study after Mitt Romney lost the last election.

Today, KOGO 600 in San Diego is hosting a panel discussing the media--hopefully some of these questions will be answered.

Really sad to miss this event, Ted Garcia of the morning news who is conducting the panel said it will be on the website of KOGO.

Coincidentally, The Los Angeles World Affairs Council will have an event this evening featuring Karl Rove talking about the same subject.  Always wanting to attend one of these functions hopefully there will be a way to see this discussion at a later date, as well.

Personally, one would like to ask CNN, why are you reporting trump's comments about the way John Kasich eats as opposed to why your are not hosting debates on the GOP side about policy and philosphies of each candidates campaign?

What is the real reason you are not having informational debates and focusing on spaghetti?

I guess that would not bring in quite as many ratings, but in the end were the pancake statements really newsworthy.

CNN might want to ask themselves these in depth questions.

Perhaps, there should be  a study about what happened to cable news as well as the Republican Party.

Ted Talks! Well Done but just a little bit too late.......

Chloe Louise:  the ronnie republic

Ted Cruz called out donald trump yesterday after he could no longer tolerate his outrageous accusations abut his family.

Unfortunately, it was a little too late as now Ted Cruz and John Kasich are out of the race and any chance for a

reasonable exchange of ideas on the Republican side has gone down the drain.
could this be the end of the Republican party

Seriously, donald trump should have been called out ages ago, the media created a monster

and our country and the world will be the ones to suffer for it.

Republican or Democrat, donald trump has already caused embarrassment for us

on the world stage.

When donald started saying his crazy and unrealistic ideas the RNC should have said, "look,

you can run for President but not as a Republican with those beliefs.....that is simply not

what we are about."

I am afraid of donald trump and his hitler-esque approach. Seriously, policy and politics

can be a touch boring and yes,

the donald makes a story setting his hair on fire every day--apparently this has worked well

for television news ratings.

But at the end of the day it is not news, it is not policy and there is no substance to his

statements.

And just wondering, why has there not been more serious debates on the GOP side............

The dems have debated policy and philosophy endlessly and the voting public

should have demanded the repubs do the same.

I am sorry for all of us that we have to be bamboozled by the trumpster--

it is a loss for the citizens of our country and everywhere the united States has interaction.

In the long run I have gotten to know Ted Cruz better and I always enjoy listening to him

talk. And this is coming form someone that is voting for Hillary.

Good job today, Ted, and well done, I am angry, too.
