Geraldo Rivera: So Sorry for the Loss of Your Older Brother Willie

Geraldo Rivera, brilliant news talk show host, told us today about the loss of his older brother, Willie.

Geraldo's show on WABC New York Radio 77 from 10 to 12 every week day morning........Geraldo always, always, always has compassion for his guests if he agrees or disagrees with their views--always lets them talk and say their opinion.

Willie passed away this morning from a long fight with heart disease and cancer.

So sorry for your loss, Geraldo, and also to your family and your 95 year old mom--to your radio family, too--may Jesus be with all of you on this sad day.

Appreciate your compassion and interest in people, Geraldo, and the ronnie republic would like to extend our thoughts to you at this sad time.

Noam Laden always does a good job anchoring the radio microphone when the host is not there but the he was later joined by Curtis Sliwa who is usually joined by Ron Kuby for their own show at noon.

Curtis and Noam continued the conversation started be Geraldo before he left a little early today to join his family.  They talked about the police issues in New York City concerning the mayor, the police commissioner  and the issues of safety concerning the citizens and the officers, themselves.

WABC is lucky to have Geraldo Rivera in its stable of news talk show hosts.  He runs an excellent show......always listening to the radio, Geraldo has the ability to run an interesting show, inform the listeners, tell the people the important international and national news of the day and let the people talk.....this is highly unusual in talk radio today.  Geraldo is not afraid of ideas different from his own--Republican or Democrat.

Thanks, Geraldo, for consistently doing a good job and caring about people and their trials and tribulations.

Watching all of the news and all of the OJ Simpson shows, it did not take long to realize Geraldo's nightly CNBC show was one of the best OJ daily round-ups out there.

Words of wisdom from Ariana Huffington.......just one of the big ladies Geraldo had on his show today.

Ariana talked about women staying healthy.....the trials and tribulations of the single mom trying to succeed, work hard, raise the kids, take time for yourself and most importantly........getting plenty of sleep.

Ariana shared today that ,in fact, she did have breakdown from not getting proper sleep, fell down and hit her head, woke up in her own pool of blood and eventually determined she had to make a change in her life for her own health.

She feels women can work hard to be successful in their chosen career but not so hard their health and mental capacity or peace of mind is jeopardized.  Ariana says we can have success with balance--without harm to ourselves and our families.

She is recommending a healthy lifestyle of proper sleep and meditation--the upshot of the whole thing--ladies and big ladies--take time for yourself.

Thanks, Ariana, for taking time out of your busy day to give us your take on survival for women in the corporate world.

Geraldo paid tribute to my girl Barbara Walters.....is their anyone with a more touching, hard working and inspirational career.

Geraldo said he really tried to make the move on Barbara Walters during their 20/20 phase but Barbara politely said, Geraldo--you know what, that sounds like fun but right now but I am busy interviewing the President of Panama, but maybe next time.

Well, good try, Geraldo........if their was anyone in the world to interview, Ms. Walters would be this blogger's choice.

Love Barbara Walters, always have and always will.

Talking about the real big girls, Martha Stewart jumped in to tell us her thoughts on nominating people and businesses who are doing good work for America that should be recognized.  More information will be available on her website.

Martha Stewart, the only one who had the chops in corporate to do time and come out smiling and looking perfect--doing her time and continuing to perfect her career.  This is a real strong and successful lady.  Always admire Martha.

Martha's current cooking show on PBS, Martha Bakes the Basics or Martha's Cooking School is the bomb.......no one bakes a cake like Martha Stewart.....it's one of the best cooking shows on television today.

Geraldo is making the point all week that the minimum wage should be raised.

Seriously, is Geraldo Rivera the future of the Republican Party or what........the way he thinks......minimum wage, immigration...these issues have to be addressed......the defining factor is that Geraldo has compassion for the working person and he listens to what the callers say.....it's not an angry show that so often afflicts talk radio today.

Geraldo said more than once this week, "I am giving a new energy to the Republican Party."

Something has to change, right, because the GOP of Bill O'Reilly and Karl Rove is only workable if the repubs would like to plan on losing the major election again.

Geraldo commented earlier this week the statement of Karl Rove regarding Hillary Clinton's health were disgusting. This is the reason people hate politics.

Karl Rove is leading the republicans right into the grave.

Could the repubs consider someone like Jon Huntsman........Geraldo, what do you think?

Do the repubs really have a future as the party of the rich, old, angry, white men?

Think about it, who won the last two elections......Jon Huntsman spoke about Hillary Clinton with respect.....Geraldo Rivera is one of the few republicans with a vision, a viable realistic vision for the GOP.

Speaking of minimum wage and it being just an after school job as one caller indicated--school nurse San Diego----the parents often worked at two taco shops to raise and support their kids.

Can't leave out O'Reilly.....the 12 year old Hispanic boys often beat up for gang affiliation.....now what were you saying about white privilege, Bill?

Good show today, Geraldo, thanks for talking about the beauty and skill and talent and hard work of Barbara Walters.

We still need two political parties....it's the political conversation that moves things forward......a little quote from Karl Rove.

From the writing desk of the Ronnie Republic Radio Round-Up:  Seriously, Geraldo Rivera should consider running for office.

Why........he is a breath of fresh air for the republican party.

He tells the truth, talks about his experiences.....discusses the issues........that's new for the Republican Party, right.

He doesn't just spend his time bashing President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

As evidenced by his talk show every morning on WABC Radio New York--he is able to work across the table---all of the big talkers call in and tell him their opinion--everyone seems to enjoy talking to Geraldo.

From the big politicians to the neighborhood folks--they all call in and tell Graldo what is on their mind.

Agree or disagree, they seem happy to chat with this New Yorker--they talk to him like they know him--as if they are old friends.

Does he have a position in the GOP--he says often he is trying to energize the Republican Party.

Listening to a whole lot of radio talk shows and cable news talk shows--they are so often just one way.

Its really not a discussion on the radio........it's just a bunch of old white men bashing our beautiful President and now, Hillary, too.

That's a turn-off, right, if you're trying to get more folks to join your political party.

This is new--there is not discussion on those other shows--it's all one way or your out of here....try watching O'Reilly or Hannity or listen to the right wing bash shows that seem to dominate the airwaves.

There is no real information--Geraldo Rivera has information--and he talks about the issues--he listens to ideas from his callers.

Most importantly--he is not an old angry white man.

The republican party has become the party of the mad men--or those that are holier than thou..........Bill O'Reilly, as an example--so in love with his own Catholic guilt.

Geraldo is a Latino--that is a big step right there--he cares for the less financially endowed individual, he wants health care for everyone.

He often speaks of those that are not financially struggling--he wants a nice life for those folks also without punishment.

Good job, Geraldo, you have a lot to offer--thanks for telling us all of your good ideas and caring about the kids and the citizens of New York.

Geraldo Rivera definitely has a handle on the pulse and vibe of New York City.

The GOP should take a listen to his Hispanic passion--after all, we still do need at least two political parties.

Call me Karl Rove but it is the political conversation that moves things forward.

I guess everyone knows Geraldo is doing a show with the Donald but it's time for him to come back.

Yesterday the guy got real mad and purposely picked a fight with a real nice lady.....then today he tried to say President Obama never mentioned terrorism associated with the Benghazi incident.

Remember........Mitt Romney, Candy Crowley.......the debate.

Enough already with the yelling and bad information.

We want Geraldo.

Mondays on Geraldo Radio with Bernie Kerik

Former NYPD Police Commish Bernie Kerik on the radio with Geraldo today.


Actually, Geraldo was not there today and Noam Laden very amply filled in to chat with the big man and Top Cop of New York about life on the street for a police man or woman.

It is always interesting to hear what  Bernie has to say--he does have a way to relate to the average person that is informative and enjoyable.  Seriously, I can understand what he is talking about and I know zip about the police.

He told of a story of people under his direction asking him to join them on Saturdays for breakfast and training on top of the Brooklyn Bridge.   As first, Bernie felt like it might not be appropriate or proper for him to join their company but after giving it some thought he felt like it might be respectful to acknowledge their request.  He ended up joining them and it turned out to be a day of mutual respect and admiration for both sides.  He added, "That was the best thing I could have done to show how I cared about the hard work of the individuals  and unsung heroes who work so hard every day and unnoticed for the NYPD."  Every day they do crazy things and put themselves in harms way for the citizens of New York and the average person does not realize what kind of things they are going through.


My son, fixing coffee, said that guy hates liberals, listening to Fran Tarkenton rail against the AARP.......but I said that even though this is a conservative station and Geraldo is a republican he does have people on from both sides and that is rare in radio today.....usually they are hard core dem or repub one way or the other.

That's the radio show of Geraldo and why I like it....I get to hear both sides and the people feel free to talk so the listener gets a lot of info....and that is my goal.

Trying to see what makes cops tick.....that is way beyond interesting info to me.  it is something I would really like to understand.

Thank you, Bernie, for taking time to tell us about the hard work and caring individuals that work on the police force.  That is great information for all of us to know.

Like BO and his recent word of the day all of you busters are so obtuse.

Talking about the civil rights movement of the 60's and the Reverend Al Sharpton.

Agree with him or not, this individual really has something to be happy about now, but there is still work to do. Why can't Bill acknowledge his happiness for once for a job well done...no BO continually marginalizes this idea by calling Al Sharpton a thug when he attended the state dinner for the President of France--the name of which Bill could not even pronounce---the H is silent.

Bill is jealous and spiteful because he has been left out and the Rev has been included.

Let him be happy for the reverend instead of calling him names and laughing at him...constantly. There is the devil at work right there if you want to go into it--trying to steal some one's happiness.

Let Bill grow up......Eddie needs to be counseled again by Wally--again, he has the mentality of a teenager

Now, I will be taking Ronald to the dog park after Perry and I do not want anyone to say anything mean about my group.....me, ronnie, Al, Geraldo, Pres. Obama, Hillary, the cats,the dems....until I can get back and defend myself.

Well, Geraldo often says Bernard Kerik, former NYPD big man is his friend, in fact, he has him on his show each Monday for a very interesting take on police and New York City current events.

Well, this morning on Geraldo Radio, WABC New York, Geraldo just could not resist asking Joe Tac about his poor representation of Bernie during his recent big trial in NYC resulting in a sentence.

Obviously, Geraldo was offended by Joe's treatment of his friend--he was scheduled to talk about his client A-Rod.

Geraldo nailed him down fast and Joe Tac did the sidestep dance.

Joe Tacopina would not really answer the questions on Bernard Kerik--he did go on very well about A-Rod as touted.

Geraldo Rivera reminded Mr. Joe T. that he was influential in his career during the OJ Simpson period when Geraldo had his very successful CNBC show featuring the trial of OJ Simpson and very well-spoken attorneys from the area.

I well remember that show--It was one of the best OJ shows on television.

Good job, Geraldo and Noam for creating a heated--lively discussion without losing your cool.  It's a good story and it would be so fun to see this continuing saga.

Now we have Alan Dershowitz and Ann Coulter......regular Tuesday guests.

Will Alan discuss the legacy of Ariel Sharon......

Alan says Chris Christie is a classic case of willful blindness--"You mess with Christie and this is what you get."

Ann does not care for Christie as she feels he screwed up on amnesty but does not feel bridge-o-rama has anything to do with politics.

Alan Dershowitz--agree or disagree--is always an amazing guest.

Alan is sad about the whole thing because he liked Gov Christie--Christie and Bob Filner hurt my feelings too

Dershowitz said Christie's actions were reckless, thoughtless and stupid and it is completely inappropriate in the oval office.

Ann very shrilly stated it does not make sense to say it was politically motivated.  Geraldo very softly lays out Ann, too.  "In your view as long as your against undocumented illegal immigrants you're okay."

Alan says illegals have contributed to our society not to mention fleeing the holocaust.
