Larry Hancock Talks about his New Book: Shadow Warfare on NPR Radio Today

Dear Larry:

I only have one word to say to you.....History.

Your hard work and your diligence will go down in history.  The way you pay attention to detail is obvious by your blog posts as you continued your research and talked about the difficulty of trying to obtain these very tedious facts.

I love reading your posts just talking about the hard work it involved.  I, for one, admire your focus.

I will promote your book on my blog as I admire any Kennedy, Government and CIA research as I have been following the assassination since I saw it on television in the 5th grade--it never leaves you and there has to be an answer.

While I like to write about it and just say my opinion once in a while I know I would never have the ability in my wildest dreams to do your kind of research and work.  That is what I am saying.....most people cannot handle that kind of tedious facts--but in the long run that will be what stands.

Particularly, about Kennedy and the areas of cover-up you have talked about in this blog--after I have read what you said about different news situations I have a much broader view of what is going on or went on....On more than one occasion I felt like I had a better grip of what was happening or did happen after you gave your take on the situation.

I have noticed this the most about the Kennedy info--there is just so much out there and so many people talking that in the long run the truth and the facts will be the words that remain and all the opinion or just idea type things will fall to the side--not that those things were necessarily wrong but in the long run the verified and researched facts will be the only thing left standing.

Your work will not just be a current headline but an admired factual reference that will go down in history--why--from all of your brilliant and hard work.

Good luck to you, Larry Hancock, and I wish you the best--you have given the greatest mystery of our day the credence and respect it deserves.

Please keep letting us know your appearances as I am always searching for good radio listening--also, I cannot wait to see you on Book TV.

I love to write about the different radio shows in my blog--the ronnie republic--under the section of--the ronnie republic radio round-up--and I welcome any contributors as I cannot cover all of the info myself.  I am really into the idea of free radio information and internet with easy access to info for all people of all ages.  That is one of my pet things and that is what you are providing.

Thank you, Larry, for all of your hard work and taking time to tell us about your book and your radio appearances.....I will always be listening to what you have to say.

Chloe Louise...the ronnie republic

here is Larry talking about his new book Shadow Warfare......

Hi folks, just wanted to let everyone know that Stu and I will be on the Leonard Lopate show tomorrow, Monday May 5th.  The show airs at 11 am Central time but will be archived as well.  You can access the broadcast though the following options:
It should be interesting, Mr. Lopate covers a broad range of topics including writer and author interviews and the dialog will likely be broader than my more recent interviews which have generally been with hosts very much  focused on covert and clandestine operations.
I haven’t seen any posts here from readers of Shadow Warfare, perhaps its too early – after all it is a 600 page book.
Shadow Warfare has done well in library sales and at retail but not nearly well enough in Amazon sales – not sure why.  Given how much time went into digging out the actual details of intelligence agency operations, especially those of the Plans and Operations folks, I would have expected more people wanting to dig into that area.  Its also surprising that there seems to be little media interest in the deep background of contemporary covert and special operations, including those in the war on terror (now in transition from being referred to as overseas contingency operations to a variety of ops using “shield
in their descriptor).   I suppose I shouldn’t be too frustrated though.  In Shadow Warfare we present a Benghazi scenario relating covert Libyan activities to Syria.  A couple of months ago Seymour Hersh did much the same thing and drew virtually no comment.  Given his history and reputation, if he gets ignored I don’t feel too bad.  It appears various political agendas hold sway over that subject.
Enough author whining, I hope you find tomorrow’s interview interesting if you decide to listen in….   Larry

Sherry P. Fiester--a breath of fresh air and truth in the continuing JFK Assassination Saga.....

Sherry P. Fiester--a breath of fresh air and truth in the continuing JFK Assassination Saga.......

Firing bullets through gel and wood does not a head shot make........

Its not even remotely the same--the frustration with PBS and Nova is just a horrible example of the Kennedy shows this year and their frustrating insistence on the lone gunman/nut philosophy.

The 50th---one would have thought this would be a great breakthrough....they are so many great researchers with brilliant work--not to be ignored--why would it be ignored but instead the media chooses to focus on the easy way out--it that it?

Grace and truth--that would be an adequate description of Sherry P. Fiester and her book Enemy of the Truth.

She says by her career in criminal investigations and criminal science it can be seen that a head shot was from the front and not from the grassy knoll.

Everyone can listen to her talk on the JFK-Lancer website--she is soooo interesting.

here is a link to the page recommended by Larry Hancock who is also an esteemed JFK researcher.

Both of these very important individuals will be speaking at the JFK-Lancer conference this year:  November in Dallas.

I have been planning this trip for this year of the 50th anniversary forever but I now I just can't make it.  Wishing everyone can attend and talk and write about this wonderful event.

Good Job Sherry and thank you for all of your very hard work--I, for one, really appreciate it because I have been very disappointed with the shows and docs this year--it is an opportunity lost and for that I am sad.

Larry Hancock, top-notch JFK Assassination Researcher on the Jeff Bushman Radio Show Tonight

New post on Larry Hancock

Patsy 102

by Larry Hancock
Before I continue further down this train of thought, I need to mention that if anyone would think it entertaining to hear me discourse in person, there are a couple of new opportunities.  This coming Wednesday evening I will be on Jeff Bushman's internet radio show for about an hour.  We will be covering a broad variety of topics and Jeff's a great host so it should be a good session.  In addition, a recent lengthy interview by Alan Dale is now up on the Lancer web site and archived for access.  The links are below:

I've been following a number of the current media interviews on the anniversary of the assassination as well as a couple of the television specials - not all of them, after close to 20 years on this subject I do hit overflow now and then - and it appears that there is a new trend.  Many quotable personalities are acknowledging that the Warren Commission inquiry was lacking in a great many ways, even "dysfunctional", and that it was not provided with a considerable amount of information as well as with questionable evidence.  Now that's a good thing, its only taken four decades or so to have that point acknowledged.  Beyond that however, the new operative responses seem to be  for the speakers to fall back on a position of stating that its important to keep an open mind or simply to pontificate that we will simply never know what really happened.  Both of which are pretty safe positions to take, although I've note noticed any of the "open minded" folks on my voice mail, clamoring to be informed of what they might have missed in the past 50 years.  Perhaps we will see all of them joining our ranks in Dallas?
Perhaps the most striking recent comment came from John Kerry, who seems to have taken the position that conspiracy of some sort may well have been in play - with his first thought being that perhaps another look should be taken at Oswald's Cuban and Russian associations. Which of course, in my view, is exactly what the plotters in the Dallas attack wanted to happen - Kerry is simply behind their playbook about 50 years, for those of them still living, it must be pretty frustrating.  In that regard, lets take a step further in thinking about the "patsy" concept I introduced in my last post.
How many of you mystery fans, print or television, have seen the show which begins with the police arresting the supposed murderer - who generally has at least some level of motive but who has been stupid enough to take the murder weapon, with their prints all over it, and hide it in their dresser drawer, in the trashcan out back or maybe the utility shed.  The police and DA are happy, and justice is about to prevail...until Jessica Fletcher, Matlock or Perry Mason steps in to reveal that many murderers are just a little brighter than that.  In other words, the obvious suspect is not necessarily the guilty party, no matter how the evidence originally stacks up.  And the bad guys have usually taken some pains to stack the deck, not only with the evidence but in creating a series of associations and a motive that falls apart with a bit of work -  within half an hour or so of air time.
Now this concept of setting up patsies is not really all that complex, William Harvey's notes address the fact that any ZRRIFLE operative will have to have a fake document trail and evidence pointing them out as a Soviet or perhaps Eastern bloc asset in case they are caught.  And in SWHT I describe Veciana's remarks about how similar one Castro assassination attempt they set up in Latin America was to Dallas, even going so far setting up the patsy with photographs implicating him as a Communist and other evidence showing he was acting for Communist handlers.  So, if Mr. Kerry is open to a conspiracy I would encourage him to consider the fact that the now obvious sponsors might be just a bit too obvious. I would also suggest he consider that both the Soviets and Russians had an excellent reputation for intelligence work and would be unlikely to leave such an obvious trail positioning Lee Oswald as being associated with them if they were indeed the true instigators of a conspiracy.  In other words, lets give the real bad guys just a trace of credit here.
In this series of posts I've brought forth a number of specific incidents and sources that associated Lee Oswald with unknown individuals who were positioning themselves as Castro agents. As we get closer to the attack in Dallas those associations and suspicions continued to grow.  In Dallas Sylvia Odio was introduced to an individual identical to Lee Oswald and told later, out of his presence, that he was a hired gun who could equally kill either Castro or Kennedy.  In SWHT I review Odio (and her fathers) suspicions that those individuals were not the peo0ple they claimed to be but were playing some sort of deeper game in those remarks.  Currently Bill Simpich is in the process further detailing the same type of false associations being planted in Mexico City and later in Dallas, according to FBI Agent Hosty, Oswald would still be in contact with "subversives".   I would submit that it was not Russian or Cuban agents handling Oswald in such a matter so as to implicate themselves in such a transparent fashion, surely insuring American retaliation following an attack on the U.S. President.
I will also submit that Lee Oswald was not stupid enough to shoot the president with his rifle and then think about hiding it at the same location, with fingerprints likely on it and then adamantly deny any such act immediately upon being taken into custody.  If I hear that "he did it to become famous" motive on one more TV show...well enough for now.

Outraged about Geraldo Rivera.....

Outraged about Geraldo Rivera being dropped from the JFK panel at Duquesne......

Dear Larry---Just cannot resist asking....re:  someone would have talked....right, Geraldo Rivera--this is one individual I have always thought had a lot to talk about regarding the whole entire JFK thing.

Yes, as a news person and also being fired from 20/20--wasn't he let go from that position because he was going to come out with something that went against Jackie Kennedy.

You see this is a main problem with the whole JFK thing--people cannot talk without retribution--even today, in this day and age with freedom of speech and all of that.

I can't believe he was canceled, of all people from a JFK panel.  This is an individual, who I have always thought really had something to say on JFK--even just as an anchor or someone involved with the news.

I, myself, have e-mailed him and asked him to come forward with what information he knows.  It does take a major news person to come forward--he could be a very large influence.  Of all the people to be let go from a conference--because he sent a picture of himself with a towel--who cares.....

Let go for this little tiny nothing incident after all we hear about the antics and misbehavior's of JFK and RFK.  I can't believe it and I guess you could say I am outraged.

I feel lucky we have access to someone with your knowledge and I am anxious and hoping you will have a comment to make on this subject.

Just as a side note, Geraldo has said in recent years that he thinks it is LHO operating as a single individual in the assassination of JFK and that there is no other significant evidence to go against it.  This is from the info I tried to look up about Geraldo from a couple of years ago--regardless of his position then or now, I would love to hear what Geraldo has to say on the subject.  I have always thought that!

What a ridiculous loss of knowledge and information to cancel this long time media person from this important event.

Chloe Louise-------outraged in San Diego

Larry--thank you for your time and giving people a place to speak.

This letter is posted on the site of JFK researcher Larry Hancock, author of the very famous book, SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TALKED.

Please read GOING FORWARD by Larry for a very interesting conversation about David Atlee Phillips.  This individual was the CIA handler of Oswald located in Mexico City.  Some people think he was very influential regarding the events in Dallas, Texas.

Whispers

by Larry Hancock

I wanted to share an very informative article just prepared for posting by my friend Rex Bradford.  The article is taken from a presentation Rex gave at a Lancer conference in 2008 and is the sort of overview work that we truly to see brought forth for the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination.  I should note that Rex is doing the same sort of overview for this November's conference, focusing on the period following the assassination. He will address the obfuscation which occurred during what was supposed to be an open investigation of the murder - but which we now know was something a good bit different.
Rex's piece, just published online, deals with remarks and insights from those individuals who know or felt there was something more to the assassination than you would find in the Warren Commission report. Overall it gives a quite chilling view of what people did not want to face up to, including people in a position to have some very legitimate concerns. It definitely should be shared with as many people as possible as we move forward to November.

JFK Author Larry Hancock on the Radio This Evening at 6PM Central

New post on Larry Hancock

Lancer Conference plus

by Larry Hancock
As mentioned, I'm afraid I will be blogging only infrequently for a couple of months as we go through the edit process on the new covert warfare book - the publisher would like to have it out in January and that means a lot of work right now. I did want to mention that I will be going on internet radio with Jeff Bushman against this evening, for a full hour.  It will be live at 8 pm Central at
 http://www.GoingBeyondRadio.com.
but its archived for anyone who wants to check in later.  I'll be on for a full hour this evening.  I also wanted to give everyone a bit of an update on the JFK Lancer Conference coming up in November.
The conference will be considerably larger this year, both in terms of length and number of participants -  you can find the details on the JFK Lancer web site - we began receiving requests to participate in the 2013 conference last November and have been working on reviewing proposals and scheduling since the end of last year.  The focus of this conference is on taking a new look at the evidence officially presented against Lee Oswald as the shooter and sole participant in the crime. We have a number of professionals lined up to address the forensics and ballistics evidence, presenting what has been learned including considerable information that was either filtered or simply not presented to the official investigations.  We will also have critiques of each of the official investigations based on what has been revealed by the past 50 years of research, in particular the new information surfaced beginning in the 1990's with a vast amount of oral history work and document releases.
In addition a number of speakers will be offering brand new research, literally never presented previously. If anyone thinks that nothing new exists on the case - well the conference should dispel that notion. We always try to maintain a real balance in the conference participants, covering the range of interests without too much redundancy and also offering the attendees the chance for personal dialogs with authors they have read or specialists the have read about - of course nobody will agree with all the information presented but its good to remember that nobody every learns much new by only talking to people with whom you already agree.
To elaborate on that point, one of the things going on at this years conference will be a number of focus group discussions on a wide variety of topics.  We have recruited researchers specializing in those subjects to moderate the focus groups and Debra Conway has obtained a separate conference room for that.  She has also organized cash breakfast and lunch buffets so that attendees will have to option of eating while listening to and participating in some of the structured discussions.  That is going to be important this year given the crowds expected in Dallas and the lines at restaurants, etc. Beyond that we will be running conference activities from around 8 am in the morning to 9 pm each evening.  If you are coming, rest up in advance as we will be keeping you quite busy.
A final point on Dallas this November, I know some folks are concerned about access to the Plaza. Debra has pursued that issue with the Mayors office for months, starting last year. Although its pretty clear that Dallas still has some work to do and decisions to make about the crowds at its official ceremony, we have been assured that once that is over, the Plaza will be open to the public on November 22.  And of course our normal walking tour of the Plaza area will be a couple of days later on Sunday, so attendees should have no concern about access to the Plaza during their time in Dallas.

Should David Atlee Phillips Have Been of the Cover of Life Magazine Instead of Lee Harvey Oswald?

Talking about the JFK Assassination Clearing House......
I think "The Clearing House" concept is an excellent idea. There is just so much information out there now. I am beginning to think that was the idea--confusion.
The big researchers seem to have the basic facts down now especially in the run-up to the big event.
Will we ever know who pulled the trigger?
The whole Oswald thing continues to be a mystery and I am beginning to think fairy tale.
The history portion of c-span ran a show of top JFK assassination researchers--Professor Wrone said Oswald was a fairy tale. The point I am trying to make is this. The word "fairy tale," that sticks in your mind. It has to be something short and something easy for people to remember or the whole thing becomes a mess of minutia and confusion--the result is that people, the general public, think it will never be solved and then the Bugliosi type people take over.
It's a mess. The citizens have a right to know what happened--reasonable questions have been asked.
Timeline, movie, a good story teller, a Southern accent--a Bill Clinton type that can take a complicated subject and explain it to the lay person--so they can remember the important facts and go away with main idea. I listen to soooo many researchers--real good ones--as soon as they start arguing over Cuban details--not that it is not important--the story is lost.
The story is lost--it is driven into the ground with minutia and the listeners eyes gloss over and their mind wanders and everything is lost. Then the next sentence is that there is no real proof. Lay it out, foot note it and move the story forward in an interesting fashion with key points to remember.
The basic facts are there now particularly with the whole Russ Baker and the George Bush elder thing and apparently Oswald's handler George de Mohrenschildt. Can these things really be denied now?
Really, I beginning to think the person who should have been on the cover of Life magazine was David Atlee Phillips, not LHO.
All of this is just a suggestion--you idea is great. Problem--it is a difficult story to understand--and complicated. Personally--I am still trying to figure out what the CIA is and does.
