Geraldo Radio WABC New York: Both Sides of the News Without Yelling

Seriously, Geraldo Rivera is one of the few people in radio who can give the listener both sides of the news without yelling.

Always listening to the radio, always trying to understand both sides of the issues--its hard with Rush and Bill O'Reilly yelling.

Very few radio hosts can interview a guest with whom they completely disagree and inspire them to tell their information....and opinion, why they think that idea.....

Talking about Israel, Iran, Netanyahu and the United States......today we got to hear a representative of Netanyahu explaining his disagreement and fear about Iran....I thought he did a good job of explaining his side of the issue.

This was in the first half hour of the show if someone would like to find it on the podcast.

He has all the big people on his show on a regular basis and we don't have to worry that Mr. Rivera will go O'Reilly and try to insult them.

He doesn't really talk in news speak so we can understand what the heck he 's trying to say.

A lot of regular people call in as if they know him.....to yell at him and to say a complement.

He lets the caller know right away.....right, I'm listening, "I've got ya,"
then they say their point......how does he let them talk in such a short time without being rude and cutting them off--but he does.

Good job Geraldo and good info on the US, Israel and Iran today.

file under:  I should be doing the dishes but I'm drinking coffee, listening to the raio and playing solitaire........

this is bammy bampsters.....he was listening to the radio too, but he decided to jump out of the window to see his friend who is hiding in tree limbs at the edge of the roof.

Chris Christie: Republican Rock Star rush, bill, sean: out of their league and out of their mind

I think and I hope Chris Christie is going to be a breath of fresh air for the Republican Party and he is definitely a leader.  Rush had to stop talking about Sarah Fluke once President Obama stepped in and spoke about women  The problem, in my ROWG neighbors, for instance, they love Rush and say he is just so funny and about the climate--they think Rush is the news.  I know because they often quote Rush to me.  But, LZ, who won the election?  That is what Bill O'Reilly and his sinking ship of fools forget.  The voters are a beautiful coat of many colors and President Obama is the President of all of the citizens.  Bill is code for Race, just like you are explaining, but that is not going to work any longer--his rant on Al Sharpton is getting into the insane category--he is out of his league and out of his mind.  He cannot handle the fact that Reverend Sharpton has had very soothing words for people that were very hurt by vigilante justice on a kid and now we have people in power who can change those unfair laws like Eric Holder.  Yes, you described it perfectly, O'Reilly makes me sick but I do think Chris Christie has jumped ship from Rush, Bill, Ann Coulter and the rest of their sinking ship of fools.  Bill keeps saying he represents the average guy, but I have news for him---the average guy voted and Barack Obama is President.  Now, any republican that wants to have the slightest chance against Hillary will have to distance themselves as far as possible from the old school freaks.

At 25, Limbaugh show still rules GOP

By LZ Granderson, CNN Contributor

Rush Limbaugh, conservative and influential radio talk show host, makes a point.
Rush Limbaugh, conservative and influential radio talk show host, makes a point.
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • LZ Granderson: President Bush in 1992, seeking Limbaugh's support, carried his bags
  • GOP has been Rush Limbaugh's bellhop ever since he got influential, he says
  • LZ: Rush throws around half-truths and insults. Some are disgusted, others entertained
  • LZ: But it's destructive when people, politicians make him some sort of spokesman
Editor's note: LZ Granderson is a CNN contributor who writes a weekly column for CNN.com. The former Hechinger Institute Fellow has had his commentary recognized by the Online News Association, the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association. He is also a senior writer for ESPN. Follow him on Twitter @locs_n_laughs.
(CNN) -- If you want to know why there's little cooperation in Washington these days, I'd start with a campaign promise made in 1988 by presidential candidate George H.W. Bush.
"Read my lips: No new taxes."
So, when he raised taxes two years later, quite naturally, voters, particularly conservatives, were upset.
If you want to know why so little is being accomplished in Washington these days, I'd start with that broken promise and what Bush did in an attempt to get those conservatives back.
He carried Rush Limbaugh's bags.
That's right. In 1992, President Bush invited Limbaugh for a sleepover and personally brought his guest's bags into the Lincoln bedroom for him
LZ Granderson
LZ Granderson
They were not friends.
In fact, Limbaugh didn't care for Bush that much, and "41" knew it. But Bush was seeking re-election. He was saddled with a slumping economy and locked in a tough battle with Gov. Bill Clinton and businessman Ross Perot.
He believed he needed Rush Limbaugh.
The party has been carrying Limbaugh's bags ever since.
So, if you want to know when Washington became so polarized, maybe we should circle August 1, 1988, exactly 25 years ago. That was the day a satirical talk show host syndicated his act and, in the process, made a lot of money and became one of the most influential figures in American politics today.
Joyner: Limbaugh shouldn't say N-word
Limbaugh: Conservatives lost gay marriage
"Have any of you heard of an individual by the name of LZ Granderson?" Limbaugh asked on his show in June 2012."Snerdley? He has not heard of LZ Granderson. Dawn, have you? Brian, have you heard of LZ Granderson? Prior to last night I had not heard of LZ Granderson."
Which isn't true.
In June 2011, Limbaugh brought me up on his show as well, going so far as to say, "You can blame me, LZ Granderson, all you want, and I'll take it."
It only takes a few seconds on "The Rush Limbaugh Show" website to find out those facts. But Limbaugh isn't on the air to provide facts, he's there to entertain. Many of his listeners understand that.
And many of them don't.
A 1994 New York Times article leading into the midterm electioncalled Limbaugh "a kind of national precinct captain for the Republican insurgency of 1994" and documented caller after caller legitimately asking the Mahi Rushie -- he calls himself that on occasion -- for guidance.
Not much has changed.
During the Affordable Health Care Act debate, callers were actually asking Limbaugh, a shock jock in the mold of Howard Stern, what was in the bill. He even threatened to move to Costa Rica if it was implemented, which seemed counterintuitive, considering Costa Rica has universal health care.
But it's moments like that when you remember that Limbaugh's purpose isn't to provide thoughtful political discourse. It's to vent on his listeners' behalf, to appeal to their censored side. The side thatwants to hear a white man say "nigga" in public or call a woman a "slut" without getting fired.
If that makes you laugh, then he's doing his job.
If that disgusts you, well that's his job, too.
Limbaugh has had us on this yo-yo since the moment he assumed the role of Gabriel in the Kingdom of Reagan 25 years ago. Back then, it was only offensive, because he was the party's megaphone, warning listeners about the impending invasion of welfare queens with his mixture of righteous indignation and half-truths. It became destructive when listeners and politicians alike made him its spokesman: a pseudo-politician free from the burden of actually having to do anything.
Like use facts.
In rebutting the legitimacy of climate change, Limbaugh once told listeners the United States had more acreage of forest land today than at the time the Constitution was written. That wasn't true, of course, but it sounded good.
Not too long ago, he read what he believed to be passages from Obama's senior thesis, passages that expressed a disdain for the U.S. Constitution. Sadly, the whole thing was made up by a blogger. And while Limbaugh did sheepishly tell listeners what he had read earlier was false, the host still found a way to justify reading it by saying, "We know he thinks it."
Some folks eat that kind of stuff up.
Some get riled up about it.
And the folks in Washington? Well, after 25 years, they're still not quite sure what to do with it or him. If you're a Democrat, do you ignore him? If you're a Republican, do you carry his bags? I imagine it's like that feeling you get when someone tells you something that you can't determine is a joke or not. You just stand there half-smiling like an idiot.
So, if you want to know what the folks in Washington are doing about the economy, I'd start there.
The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of LZ Granderson.

The Hateful Repubs and Hillary Clinton

The GOP’s Hillary problem

copied from THE HILL...........
By Brent Budowsky - 05/08/13 06:35 PM ET
House Republicans are misusing taxpayer money and abusing House committee rules to promote a partisan vendetta against President Obama and the woman who has earned the stature of being the most admired political leader in America, and a stateswoman who is widely admired around the world: former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Last week I wrote about the GOP’s Obama problem. Today I write about the GOP’s Hillary problem and begin with this: The House leadership and the media should investigate and report whether Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) and the majority of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee have violated the rules of the House by systematically withholding vital information about Benghazi witnesses and testimony from committee Democrats while selectively leaking information to the press.

Make no mistake, the hearings about the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, are being conducted with one-party rule and the ethical standards of a Soviet Politburo hearing under Leonid Brezhnev, with rampant procedural violations of the rights of committee Democrats.Make no mistake, these hearings are not an impartial attempt to gather the facts. They are a partisan witch hunt against Clinton that embodies everything Americans dislike about politics in Washington and Republicans today.
Former White House Counsel John Dean once told Richard Nixon that there was a cancer on his presidency. Republicans have lost so many recent elections because there is a cancer on their party.
The cancer is that, without ideas and policies that appeal to voters, Republicans are reduced to a politics of obstruction, nihilism and negativity that makes them appear as if they hope America fails, and a politics of personal destruction that is now, through the Benghazi hearings, directed at Clinton.
Republicans today can learn from Nixon’s farewell address, when he warned that those obsessed with destroying their political opponents will only destroy themselves.
Before the bodies were fully laid to rest after the tragedy at Benghazi, the Republican nominee for president, backed by the Republican National Committee chairman, disgracefully said that President Obama was sympathetic to those who killed Americans at Benghazi.
From September 2012 until May 2013, Republicans have shamefully tried, and failed, to exploit the deaths of Americans at Benghazi for partisan gain. Of course, mistakes were made at Benghazi. Clinton long ago accepted her fair share of responsibility, which is one more reason she is held, and will continued to be held, in such high esteem by so many Americans.
When will Chairman Issa and Republicans accept responsibility for their aggressive and unwise attempts to cut embassy security spending before Benghazi?
It is a disgrace for House Republicans to ask taxpayers to subsidize five House committees — paying huge staffs and expenses, working in league with partisan Republican lawyers, withholding information from committee Democrats and leaking partial information to the press — pursuing a partisan vendetta against the former secretary of State, who is the one person who has taken public responsibility and implemented changes to prevent future tragedies.
Clinton has achieved widespread admiration at home and abroad by earning it through hard work, great skill, high standards, vast achievement and good faith as first lady, a United States senator and secretary of State. She has triumphed over a generation of GOP slanders and cheap shots with even more achievement and good humor.
This is the GOP’s Hillary problem. Republicans ignore Nixon’s farewell warning at their peril. Republicans who offer nothing except attempts to destroy opponents they treat as enemies will only destroy their party, as the GOP has destroyed itself in recent elections.
Republicans tried this against President Clinton, who was elected to serve two terms. They tried it against President Obama, who was elected to serve two terms.  The Benghazi attack against Clinton will fail by making Republicans look like party hacks demeaning a world-class stateswoman.
The GOP’s Hillary problem is that over a lifetime of great achievement, she has earned the admiration and trust of the people, while Republicans who smear her have not.

Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity's secret phone call as they praise rush limbaugh and make plans to join his 12 step program for ROWGS.

The liberal limbawdian fantasy continues...........by chloe louise

Well, apparently the mobile was hacked and the contents of the phone call were leaked to the media by an unidentified source:

"Sean," Bill confided, "What do you think we should do, we are losing numbers in that blasted rating system and rush is all over the place after he rode in that darn Rose Parade with Nancy Pelosi."

"The whole thing was so stupid and rush ate it right up, they should have had me in the parade with my banner Taking Back America on each side of the car.  Rush is just a sell-out now." sean cried.

"I know hannity, but its working for him--that's the spin, that's the zone its spinning in."

It has previously been leaked in a different call that o'reilly really wanted to ride in the parade with no spin zone pasted on each side of the car

"Well, Sean, what should we do, should we join him, I don't think for a second he buys into that garbage, being nice to women and all that, the thing is the public is buying into that stuff---it's the trend right now, it will change next week," Bill whined.

"But do you think we should act like we are in on it or what--we're losing all our numbers and rush is getting everything," Sean agreed.

"I'm mad because everyone knows rush doesn't even like parades--I've always been a parade person."

"Well, I have, too.  If we joined up we could ride in the parade, too."

"Sean, I am not riding in a second car......my car is equal to rush or I'm not doing it.  I'm not being in a second car or in the back seat to rush."

"Bill, I want a better car than rush, and equal lanes--side by side exactly--I'm not riding one inch behind!"

It's said by anon. sources that they will be making the announcement to join the program soon.  It will be a formal statement by their publicity group and it willl focus on their goal to turn around the republican party and focus on women--there will be no mention made of ratings or rush's new-found popularity, what so ever. A bid will be put in for them to appear on The View or Oprah--they'll make it heart-felt.

Bill will tank up on tranquillizers before Oprah or Barbara  grill him.....just to prevent spiraling into a Laura Ingraham type incident.

And the world was a better place.

Women In The Politics, What Women Want and Ariana Huffington's Cash Cow

Women In The Politics, What Women Want and Ariana Huffington's Cash Cow

Right, that would be Bill Maher......

There was a real good show on C-Span this past weekend about women in politics and how women are viewed and treated by the media.

As I have written many  times before I really have a problem with Bill Maher and his treatment of Sarah Palin.

While I definitely do not agree with Sarah Palin politically and I do find some of her statements about people very offensive, as well, I am particularly offended by the statements of Bill Maher during the run up to our recent presidential election.

Bill Maher donated a cool one mill to the dems giving him the self-proclaimed right to become a spokesman for the democratic party......a big mistake as far a I am concerned.

I would like every democrat and republican to know that Bill Maher does not speak for me as a democrat or represent my views of the democratic party.

Let's start at the top.......Many dems are very religious people and Bill's statements about religion are offensive.  We all know there are problems with organized religion but many people find great strength from Jesus, who I consider my friend.   I admire any one in any religion for just trying to live right in this world today.

Bill, I love Jesus, I don't have any proof........

But here is what bothers me even more........

Ariana Huffington runs Bill as if he is the Mark Twain of our time.   He went to a very ugly and horrible level with his comments about Sarah Palin which takes women in politics and the media back to the dark ages.  He tried to cover it up by saying, it's funny, I'm a comedian, I said it in a comedy club....whatever.  But, nevertheless, it was all over the media and it represented democrats and many people laughed with him

What will women think if they choose to speak out about politics and risk a career as a public figure?  Bill's comments are the same as a bunch of teenagers laughing in a huddle at an easy victim passing by.

Dr Drew and Ariana Huffington are drinking the Kool-Aide....

Right, Bill is popular and everyone is having a good laugh not only at the expense of Sarah Palin but at the expense of women everywhere and women in politics.  He went on Dr. Drew and further defended himself and Dr. Drew did not once mention the ill effects of his statements against women.  Really, sometimes it seems like Dr. Drew has been affected by popularity in recent stands, as well.  Bill Maher humiliated women speaking out politically everywhere but Dr. Drew welcomed him on his show and enjoyed the attention.

The person that is also very detrimental to the advancement of women in politics is Ariana Huffington.  Well, it's her newspaper isn't it?  Can you really call  it that.  If you own the newspaper and your name is the name of the newspaper, or perhaps, publication, would be a more accurate term...then I guess you can run anything you want.  I am sure Bill Maher makes a lot of money for Ariana Huffington and many people read her paper to hear what clever things he has to say.  I imagine Ariana Huffington loves to be on his show and promote herself and her newspaper.  Again, she is already successful...I would ask her to think two times before she bashed all women just to make money by letting maher's mouth run wild and unchecked.  Apparently Ariana Huffington's platform is that of Bill Maher, humiliating and a step backwards for women or not.

Mr. Maher may want to use President Obama as an example to follow...particulary since he gave his big money to support him...or did he give his big money just to have a platform to support himself and his egomania?  President Obama actually spoke out against the ridiculous satements of Rush Limbaugh in a dignified manner.  Rush actually had to stop and I also heard it said in local conservative talk radio--we really have to be careful what we say now after Rush.  President Obama stood up for women and did not tolerate women being used negatively to further a media persons show.  Mr. Maher and his friend Ariana may take a tip from our President about being dignifed and furthering the cause of women in their publications and statements

What was Sarah Palin suppose to do after that horrible comment heard around the world.  It was embarrassing..it was embarrasing for all women.  Its embarrassing for me to hear and then write a blog.  There is no reasonable response or answer.  Bill insulted all women and we are just left to take it.

God gave Bill the talent of being truly humorous but he may want to use his talents more carefully--he is already very famous and successful.

Unleashed and out of control..............

I prefer Maher not to represent me as a dem.  Both bill and rush trashed women for self-promotion and attention...........they are making a show.  They are both making a show and using women as a joke.

I do not like it and I enjoy taking the opportunity to write against it.

Gloria Allred Begs KOGO 600's LaDona Harvey to Move Out of the Dark Ages

Gloria Allred Begs KOGO 600's LaDona Harvey to Move Out of the Dark Ages

LaDona said  "Well, what do you think?"

LaDona please--Gloria Allred is right--there is no other answer then discrimination against women.

Allred suing the college for gender discrimination--the mother fired--the father hired

To me that only means men can do it and women can't--the conservatives and rush limbaugh--do they wonder why they lost the election?

Talking about the lady that was fired from San Diego Christian College for getting pregnant--It's illegal to have sex, get pregnant--really.  Apparently she signed some sort of contract that she would not get pregnant without being married while working at this business, but that discriminates against women Gloria said and that is illeagal by the constitution of California.  It also discriminates against women because men can have children without losing their job--there is really no evidence, but the woman's condition is obvious and she loses her job.

To further rub salt into the wound the father was employed by the school while the mom was let go.

The real question--La Dona cannot possibly be that obtuse--I think these talk radio people just say anything to make a show.

The other important fact LaDona is missing.  Gloria Allred is quite the amazing lady.  She has fought very hard for the rights of women.  She has taken many cases and won where the lady did not have the finances to fight the case by purchasing the services of an attorney.

LaDona claims she would just not do it....

Okay LaDona, I give you the self-control idea for just a moment--that does sound good on the surface.  I guess LDona is maintaining she has incredible self-control and judgement.  LaDona--have you ever been a teenager?  Maybe you signed the agreement because you desperately needed a job but did not really understand the agreement you signed.  Maybe the employee really did not have full command of the language.

LaDona, claims she is an atheist, sent to the moon over Ms. Allred, calls Gloria a self-promoter and a "fame-ho"......LaDona says they would fire the man that got the girlfriend pregnant in the same situation--LaDona, how would they know?

LaDona made a joke and said it hurt the girls feelings--in a condescending tone--but wait LaDona, I bet it hurt more than her feelings, I bet it hurt her wallet.

I think LaDona is an embarrassment against women and women's rights--LaDona reads everything carefully in advance, LaDona does not make mistakes.  That's a fabulous idea, but not every girl, lady, employee falls into that category--besides that their school statement is unreasonable--If I heard it correctly that feel homosexuality is immoral, as well.

Really LaDona--I am embarrassed for you--what are the gay kids supposed to do--what are the gay kids at that school suppose to do.  Tell me what you think about that LaDona--kids who fell into their ridiculous contract of immorality through no fault ofr their own--kids who do not have the power or control to do anything about the situation. answer that LaDona.

Tell me what you think.

Hannity Ratings Plummet After 'Taking Back America" Statement

copied from the inquisitor from yahoo................

Sean Hannity Ratings Plummet, Loses Half His Viewers After Election

Sean Hannity’s ratings have plummeted after the 2012 election, as the conservative television host saw his audience dwindle after GOP challenger Mitt Romney failed to unseat President Obama.
Hannity saw his audience fall by about 50 percent after the election ended. Though it was not entirely unexpected that Hannity’s ratings would drop after the biggest political event in the last four years, his decline was sharper than other conservative pundits, Salon noted. Bill O’Reilly saw his viewership drop by only about one-third.
Among the important demographic of viewers aged 25-54, Sean Hannity’s ratings were even worse. More than half of what is known as the “money demo” stopped watching.
Many believe that Sean Hannity’s ratings suffered as a result of his failed rhetoric. Throughout the election he hyped up Mitt Romney’s chances to win the election, seizing on the Republican’s strong performance in the first presidential debate to all but call the election.
From the New York Daily News:
So what happened to Hannity?
The going wisdom is that viewers who basked in his preelection anti-Obama rhetoric tuned him out when they were stunned to wake up on Nov. 7 and discover that the President had won a second term — a scenario that Hannity had all but promised could never happen.
Before the election, Hannity was riding high in the ratings and topped thought leaders on the right, like Dick Morris, Ann Coulter, Peggy Noonan and talk radio bulldog Mark Levin, who predicted Obama would lose in a landslide.
As his ratings dropped, Sean Hannity also saw himself the center of attack from the right. Outspoken actor Ed Asner in early December claimed that Hannity was “behind on his rabies medicine.”

and from cl.........I like to listen to all kinds of news and radio...it's just what I have always done.  Really, that statement of "taking back America," what does that mean?  It is really a horrible statement if you think about it.  The United States is a beautiful coat of many colors and we have always been founded and operated on that concept. During the Hilary Rosen outburst many called in and tried to tell Sean what point they felt Hilary was trying to make.  The people were actually very nice but Sean wasn't having it.  At one point after the 3rd caller said Hilary was not trying to down play Ann Romney but simply stating she was not going out to an actual facility to work, Sean said, "Well, this is what I am paid to think and I am sticking with it."  I am going on memory with these words.  Sean is out of style and losing popularity.  I feel it is because he is so unreasonable.

Rush Limbaugh Celebrates Completion of 12 Step by Agreeing to Ride in Rose Parade

update 12-28-12:     Well, everyone knows I have always loved waving and riding--especially when the focus is on me!!.......rush replied when questioned about the exciting news!!!

and what are ROWGS, asked one of the reporters at the press conference......Oh--that was the rich old white guys, but they're not in style any more.  You know, at one time they ruled the world, but now they don't....and this is sort of a celebration.

10-17-12

Sean Hannity: I'm Just So Angry With Rush Right Now!

Highlights of the story:

Rush Limbaugh's secret phone call to Bill Clinton.

rush limbaugh gets his ya ya's out then washes Whoopi Goldberg's feet in hopes of redemption.

Yes, rush, you were very naughty and now it is time for your discipline!

My liberal limbawdian fantasy by Chloe Louise Langendorf Louis.......

rush, you portrayed your activities of "watching" as normal while you debased the activities of young women as vulgar and street worthy. In my dream your punishment will be allocated by Whoopi Goldberg--she said in her television special she's willing to talk about it--she is willing to have a conversation about race and I am including women--she doesn't mind if there is a disagreement. She is willing to answer questions.

The limbaughing of limbaugh...............

Now--we'll begin by sitting down and having a talk. In retribution you will get down on your knees and wash Whoopi Goldberg's feet and listen politely as she takes her valuable time to explain to you where you have gone wrong with women, racial slurs, the tea party, with President Obama--and with your life in general.

You'll act interested. You will be a guest on THE VIEW and tell the women of America what you learned and how lucky you were to have the opportunity to have a chat with Whoopi. It turned into a really enlightening experience. Barbara Walters will interview you with heartfelt questions and you will cry to show you're sorry and your sincerity.

You'll do "Oprah's Next Chapter" and discuss your new hobby of flower arranging and your new life, in general. A serious discussion will continue on how getting in touch with your feminine side has had positive effects on all of your relationships. You will say that health care is a right of every human being in each appearance--not something to be bought and sold and bantered about as an election talking point.

CNN will pick you up for a new show about multi-cultural women in the United States and around the world. You will feature Cooking With Alia to showcase strong young women around the world. You like it as a business model and you have always wondered about the proper use of Moroccan spices. You have Glen Beck and Bill O'Reilly on your new show and try to chat with them about the possibility of changing their ways--have they ever just thought about being a Democrat?

You will be heralded for developing a 12 step program for R.O.W.G.'s to promote the betterment of all people and relationships in the United States and around the world. Your crowning glory will be to write a column for drudge to promote equal rights for women.

You disclose to Oprah in a soft voice that the giant hole in your heart has closed and you are finally able to give up food and pills as a crutch. You also reveal you are actually enjoying your new humility--you never thought you would be able to say that. Driven by fear and insecurity about your own masculinity you were hiding behind the arrogance and the pretense was becoming a burden. You will also confide to Oprah on national television that you have secretly always been jealous of Bill Clinton and you went home with a stomach-ache after that time you made fun of Hillary's hair.

Sean Hannity finally challenges you to a face-off in disgust. You reveal to Sean, you had been looking to Bill Clinton for diet and health advice for a long time. As you and Bill eventually became friends, it was hard at first, you realized that he was a great world leader and you asked him if you could make a large financial contribution to is humanitarian causes.

Bill agrees to keep your new life private but urges you to publicly add your name to his cause--you finally give in and your name is glorified with other world leaders.

Sean remains angry and mystified and continues to suffer from the disease of chronic and incurable self-righteousness.

Rush finally concedes to Leslie Stahl in CBS Sunday Morning exclusive, "I looked in the mirror one day and said, I'm large! and not just in radioland; frankly, Leslie, I was feeling jowly." "I heard Bill C. say he only eats things that are grown--no faces--my face was giant, and I did not want someone to eat me!"

Rush Limbaugh and Nancy Pelosi will ride together as Grand Marshall's in the Rose Parade in a final celebratory jubilee. You were honored because of the success of your anti-bullying campaign in America. And Rush Limbaugh and Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg all lived happily ever after and Rush ended up being a frequent guest on The View.

......3 months later--bill, glen and drudge couldn't help but notice Rush's new found popularity with women (and higher ratings) and finally joined the 12 step program as followers and the world became a better place*

......rush asked Leslie Stahl after the interview lights went off---did she know of any classes about making jewelry, earrings specifically,  he loves color and wants a couple of pairs of earrings like hers--one for himself and one for his wife, too.

THE ONE HOT REPUBLICAN

THE ONE HOT REPUBLICAN

The one hot and more importantly, not  insane, republican, Jon Huntsman.

Really, I think if they would have run him they would have had a chance.  That seemed to me straight forward from the beginning, but apparently the others did not agree since he did not even come close to winning the nomination.

He said on the Sunday show, yes  I have 7 children and I have been married for a long time, but people can see that and you don.t have to rub it in every one's face.

Right, it seems as if he has respect for people that are a little bit different than himself.  His  family is magnificent but there are so many other  kinds of magnificent families,as well.

Isn't the great thing about America the wonderful mix of individuals and  the way things started in the first place.   I thought that was the premise of the whole place....freedom.  Freedom for everyone, not just sean hannity.

The dinosaurs are dead......

Perhaps there should be the new republican party...lead by Jon Huntsman....and the crazy republican party lead by Rush Limbaugh and all of the crazy moral preachers.

Sean Hannity likes to say on his show "taking back America."  What does that mean?  Who and what is American nowadays?  Does Sean think all of the other people stole America from the rich old white guys?

Can Sean Hannity count....

There are more of all of the other people, the one's who sean is taking America back from, as he always says on his radio show, than ROWGs.  The big money Texas fat cats just couldn't count correctly, as was evidenced by our wonderful election.  Maybe President Obama should include the one sane republican in his advisory committee to balance the insanity of all of the other repubs constantly trying to block him.

Let the republican party purge those crazy people--they are giving their party a bad name--and the repubs and dems can come together and move the political conversation forward.

PS...I know there are other well qualified and well intentioned republicans...please comment and list them and their attributes..don't bother to include the limbaugh and hannityesque nuts...really...they are moving the political conversation backward, not forward.

Rush Limbaugh and His 12 Step Program For ROWGS

Bill Maher Continues to Embarrass Fellow Dems

“Democratic Ball and Chain Bill Maher Should Apologize to Sarah Palin and Dr. Drew Should Stop Drinking The Kool-Aide

Bill Maher continues to embarrass fellow dems....referring to his recent blog in the Huff Post on Akin.

Bill does not speak for me as a dem.  In the first place I am capable of forming my own opinion of Sarah Palin, or other repubs, based on what they say--no profanity has to be thrown in for his own aggrandizement.  Certainly, if he is such a gifted comedian he can find other more innovative and descriptive words to demonstrate his disagreement with the opposite party.

As soon as he uses a sexual slur--then he puts the other person in an awkward position--what shall their equal yet clever response be?  That is the first thing women bashers do- to make a negative sexual comment.  There is no response.  I can't use a word like that back to him, nor would I.  The point is immediately lost and all the focus is on Bill and his supposed cleverness.

I hope is is not a prerequisite to be a member of the democratic party to find Bill Maher amusing.  He is not my cup of tea and his words are way too bold and the point is lost.  I am for women speaking and then I will make my decision to vote for President Obama again and go to the polls.

President Obama has come way to far in his support for women and healthcare , particularly when he spoke against Rush Limbaugh, to have a self-promoter like Bill Maher mess things up.

Bill also does not speak for me about spirituality and religion.  I find his comments offensive in that area, as well.  He does not speak for me as a democrat about religion.

My prediction is that it's just a matter of time before we have to suffer another "controversial" episode by Bill Maher. His big money donation was just a thin veil for self-promotion. His comments are offensive to women. He is a ball and chain for the dems. Then, as if this is news, what he said will have to be discussed again, because he gave the money.

His mom needs to speak to him, or some mom, let it be me--because he is out of line and he does need to apologize to Sarah Palin. He is particularly annoying because he tried to cover his remark with humor and get everyone to laugh with him like it was okay because it was funny. Then he went on Dr. Drew and bragged about being a "potty mouth." Talk about drinking the kool-aid; I'm still disappointed with Dr. Drew because many young people look to him for guidance--he can set the example for how to think with a certain group of people.

I do not agree with Sarah Palin politically. I admire her interest in politics. To me she is a strong women and a good mom--I want to hear what she has to say even though I will not vote for her. I like the political conversation and I think it moves things forward.”

Obama 2012.....Dick Morris--not so much.

Dick don't be a hater.

President Obama has spoken against rush limbaugh on women's rights.  Health care is something he wants for every citizen of the United States.  The repubs are going to have to act fast if healthcare is over turned and the 26 year olds have no insurance.  President Obama has come out in favor of gay marriage.  He helped boost the car companies and boost the economy.  He has shown moral leadership in asking for equal rights for everyone.  He sets the example and sets the tone.

As far as his speeches:  not only is he funny--he's cute, too.  Talking about the "red sox" speech.

Obama 2012....Dick Morris--not so much.

...In answer to Dick Morris constantly bashing President Obama.

Some Bullies Grow Up To Be Bullies--Chip Franklin

Some Bullies Grow up to be Bullies---this is copied from the Smirking Chimp---cl

by Brent Abrahamson | May 13, 2012 - 9:43am

We have all heard the story by now. According to an article in The Washington Post, "Mitt Romney’s prep school classmates recall pranks, but also troubling incidents," then high school student Mitt Romney led an attack on a student who didn't look the way Romney felt that he should. The weaker student was perceived to be gay, and Mitt Romney didn't like the way the bleached blond new student, John Lauber, wore his hair. Romney took it upon himself to lead a group of boys to attack Lauber and hold him down while Mitt Romney cut the boy's hair.
The attack against the story by the right has been swift. Those who profess to believe the story dismiss it as a boys-will-be-boys prank. After all, who hasn't done things in high school that they later regret? Perhaps. But how do you even years later not even remember the incident? Bullied people remember such incidents all of their lives. Bullies, if the explanation is to be believed, have no such problem.

As I was considering this episode, I recalled an incident depicted in the 1985 movie, The Breakfast Club. A number of students were placed on Saturday detention for various infractions of school rules. At one point in the movie, all the students confess to one another what they did to earn a detention. Andrew Clark, played by actor Emilio Estevez, makes this confession:
Andrew: I taped Larry Lester's buns together.
Brian Johnson: That was you?
Andrew: Yeah, you know him?
Brian Johnson: Yeah, I know him.
Andrew: Well, then you know how hairy he is. And when they pulled the tape off, most of his hair came off and some - some skin, too.
Claire Standish: Oh my God.
Andrew: And the bizarre thing is that I did it for my old man. I tortured this poor kid because I wanted him to think that I was cool. He's always going off about how when he was in school and all the wild things he used to do. And I got the feeling that he was disappointed that I never cut loose on anyone, right? So I'm sitting in the locker room and I'm taping up my knee, and Larry's undressing a couple lockers down from me. And he's kinda, he's kinda skinny. Weak. And I started thinkin' about my father, and his attitude about, about weakness. And the next thing I knew, I jumped on top of him and started wailing on him. And my friends, they just laughed and cheered me on. And afterwards, when I'm sitting in Vernon's office, all I could think about was Larry's father and Larry having to go home and explain what happened to him. And the humiliation - the fucking humiliation he must have felt. It must have been unreal. I mean, how... how do you apologize for something like that? There's no way. It's all because of me and my old man. God, I fucking hate him. He's like this mindless machine that I can't even relate to anymore.
[crying, imitating his father]
Andrew: 'Andrew! You've got to be number one! I won't tolerate any losers in this family! Your intensity is for shit! Win! Win! Win!' You son of a bitch. You know, sometimes I wish my knee would give. And I wouldn't be able to wrestle anymore. And he could forget all about me.
I believe that this exchange does give us some insight into the mind of the bully. What motivates him? Can a repentant bully have remorse?
We can't know what happened later as Andrew Clark grew up. Did he revert to bullying? Did he ever forget this incident?
What we do know is Mitt Romney, the high school boy, as a man. And his statements reveal that he grew into being an adult bully.
Who but an unrepentant bully could claim to have forgotten such a cruel act?
What kind of adult straps his dog to the roof of a car?
What kind of adult claims he likes to fire people?
What kind of adult says he is not concerned about poor people?
What kind of adult wants to amend the U. S. Constitution to restrict the Civil Rights of a segment of our population?
The fact is that some teenaged bullies grow up to become adult bullies.
As a retired middle school teacher, I have had the perspective of seeing both the teen bully and the adult bully. This is a subject I have written about several times, and lots of people seem to relate to this reality.
Mitt Romney, in my opinion, is an adult bully, not because of one act he did as a teen, but because of his actions and statements ever since.
Here is more that I have written about the adult bully.

You can decide for yourself if Mitt Romney is one or not.

In an odd and sick sort of

In an odd and sick sort of way, this is a story that will actually help Romney. There's no question the story is believable. Even those that will deny this story from the right believe it.
But in an unspoken kind of way, this will help Romney. This will help him with those on the right that criticize him most. Deep down and in their guts they'll appreciate this. Because these narrow-minded, Neanderthal fucks believe that everyone must live as they live, believe as they believe, and worship as they worship. And everyone must look and act a certain way.
And in their black hearts and even blacker souls, there will be a certain appreciation for this kind of behavior. It'll never be spoken in those terms of course. But this will give him bona fides in that despicable circle that he never could have bought with the unlimited largesse that will be at his disposal.
Beating up and humiliating those that are different is a badge of honor with these people. Their fear of everything and anything not of them demands it. It's perfectly fine. And now a lot of those people know that Romney is more like them than they ever imagined.

And That is How Bullies Are Made.......by Chloelouise

And that is why Rush Limbaugh is still on the air. We have our own Rush Limbaugh here in San Diego named Chip Franklin. He has often spoke against the Occupy group and feels they are useless and do not stand for anything--they should not exist. He has been very clear about his feelings and taken time on his show to humiliate Ray Lutz speaking for Occupy on more than one occasion. To say he goes after him with enthusiasm would be an understatement. He bragged on his show his son knocked down an Occupy member because he was blocking his way to class--like he could not go around. He did say he told his son not to knock people down yet the son reported his action to his dad and the dad bragged on the radio show. He even had the nerve to say my son is real big. Were all of the other rich, old white guys snickering? Well, the answer is yes because I have heard the chuckling at work and at the neighbor's dinner party on issues that were almost the same. And that is how bullies are made.
