Yes, it's true......I love Jesus and I am a democrat.

I would like to thank all of the wonderful people that follow me on twitter.

I know I have many followers that are of a different political view......but I love the political conversation.

That is what Karl Rove says......it's the political conversation that keeps things moving forward.

If anyone would like to comment, write a post--agree or disagree--talk about Bill O'Reilly as in what makes him tick...........or anything.

Please comment.

I do have guest contributors that are conservatives.

I also like to write about the radio, news, food, travel, dogs, cats, crafts, sewing  and Wichita.

British Shirts-Good Price -Slim Fit--the sewing hearald tribune and the ronnie republic

news from the ronnie republic and the sewing herald tribune.........free shipping on London shirts.....good quality.....good prices.

Shirts and blouses from Hawes and Curtis......it's fun to visit this shop in London and see all of the sights in the heart of British tailoring....Savile Row is right around the corner.....and Rick Steeves features Jermyn Street in his England travel episode.

This shop, in particular, have very nice shirts for ladies and men, good quality fabric and prints, slim fit and classic fit....and the price is affordable....right now they have free shipping but on a regular basis the shirts are a great quality for the price.

Also the fabric shops in London have Liberty of London prints....yes they are a little expensive but one can immediately see the quality of the fabric......they also have fabric for a Chanel style jacket and braids for the acent.

Some of these shirts and fabric are almost impossible to find in the US.

Shop new arrivals from the men's extra slim fit range

sewing a new cat bed--making a cat bed from fabric scraps

Displaying IMAG1422.jpg

Can you see the new cat bed?

Apparently Sam loves the electric throw more.

It was just completed last evening.

I'm sure he will be jumping in it any minute.

It is just a flat oval stuffed with scraps of fabric with a folded long strip, stuffed, and sewed to the edges.

Tip--Sew it before you stuff it--leaving open a large enough space to adjust the stuffing with your hand.

I sewed the edge closed and attached it to the oval all in one zig-zag--about 6 inches.

Al Jazeera America, Bringing the World Together With Food and Fabric and Cooking With Alia

I would love for you to write about food and fabric of Palestine and perhaps, travel, too.  Or Iran or anything like that...Egyptian local fabric....that is sooooo interesting to me.   My obsession is sewing and food.  I like to see fabric from all over the world....shirt fabric from Liberty of London is my current favorite.  I will travel to southern Italy soon to find shirting fabric there.

My thing...bringing the world together with food and fabric.  We all are just trying to eat breakfast and get the kids dressed and off to school while we try to get to work on time.  This commonality brings us all together with a daily goal.  I love to write about it on my blog...the ronnie republic....and I welcome any contributors to talk about sewing tips, classes or any good sewing info......It is the SEWING HERALD TRIBUNE portion of the ronnie republic.

That big boy in the picture, that's ronnie...he's my dog and he's really cute...thanks for everything....chloelouise.  PS:  have you seen cooking with alia?  It is a show on you tube about Moroccan cuisine....it is a really good show...you should  have her on the new Al Jazeera...she is a wonderful person and a good cook...her recipes are easy to follow and she has traveling episodes, too.....thanks, again...cl.

Hello,
Can’t wait for Al Jazeera America to launch? Neither can we!
The award-winning Al Jazeera program “The Stream” is coming to Al Jazeera America, and to mark the announcement, we’re hosting an #OpenEditorial Google+ Hangout, this Friday, June 28, at 12pm ET / 9am PT with “The Stream” host Lisa Fletcher.
What can you expect from the Hangout? This isn’t going to be your traditional news broadcast — for starters, we don’t know yet what topics we’re going to cover.
You read that right.
Our #OpenEditorial meeting is your chance to connect with us directly and pitch a story idea for coverage. We want to know which stories you think the national media has missed and need to be covered.
“The Stream” producers and hosts will be tweeting on #OpenEditorial all week, so join the conversation as we discuss your ideas.
We can’t wait to hang out at the Hangout with you!

Salma Rauf Shows Us How To Make a Beautiful and Easy Kaftan

from the writing desk of the sewing herald tribune......we love contributions!

file under:  my sewing obsession...my latest obsession--making kaftans.

This kaftan video is irresistible and easy.....the vid is very good because the instructions are very clear and easy to follow.  I do not think it has to be exact measurements.......Salma does a very good job of explaining the concept of the kaftan and it is fun to watch.....good job, Salma.

here is a link to the video on you-tube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j54ziRmKbKQ

I will ask her where she finds this fabric.......

The kaftan is so stylish for dressing up with heels.

Thank you, Salma for you sewing tips.
