Art Bell, the broadcaster who pioneered paranormal topics in radio with his show "Coast to Coast AM," returns to the airwaves with a new show, "Midnight in the Desert."
"Midnight in the Desert" will air on Portland'sKXL-FM (101) weeknights, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m, beginning Monday, July 20. The show will also be available online through Dark Matter Digital Network.
Bell announced he was retiring from the show he founded, "Coast to Coast AM" in 2007, but he has turned up since then in a short-lived satellite radio show, and other spots.
When "Coast to Coast AM" was at its most popular, in the 1990s and early 2000s, Bell's subject matter -- conspiracies, UFOs, unexplained phenomena -- struck a chord in pop culture. In addition to being interviewed on TV, Bell also played himself in a 1999 episode of the Fox series, "Millennium."
In the press release from Alpha Media,  Scott Mahalick, executive VP of programming, said, "We're thrilled to be amping up our paranormal broadcast activity with the addition of Art Bell following Clyde Lewis' Ground Zero. It's a home run for Alpha Media to have the two biggest talents anchored on FM NEWS 101 KXL."
Milt McConnell, Alpha Media senior VP/market manager, said in the release, "Art is an American Original in terms of putting the paranormal on the radio landscape. We are so proud to extend his coverage to the Northwest where there is a rabid appetite for his unique brand of communication."

Everyone should listen to Geraldo Rivera Radio today interviewing the former President of Peru, Alejandro Toledo.

Geraldo's very good news/talk radio show is on every morning on WABC New York from 10-12 in the Eastern time zone..............7-9 AM in San Diego.

This United States educated President said that education was a right of  every citizen.

He also  shared with the listeners his predicition that in 20 years the United States would in fact be a nation with a  majority of Hispanics as immigrants and that we will have a  Hispanic president.

President Toledo was on the radio today to talk about  his  new book  The Shared Society--A Vision For The Global Vision Of Latin America.

He shared with Geraldo his thought that education was  the right of every citizen of Peru and Latin America.

The people of Latin America are coming to the US to have a better life and a better life for their children.

When asked about the recent visit of Pope Francis President Toledo shared the idea that natural resources of a country should be used for the education of the citizens.  When people have  an education they have better health care, better opportunities and simply lead a life of higher quality.

Now with the advent of the cell phone and technology available to individuals of all levels of society the citizens of every nation are becoming more impatient for an education.

I  wish everyone could listen to this man speak--it was quite inspirational.

One can always listen to the podcast if they miss the  show simply by going to WABC.com and jumping over to "on-demand."

Geraldo Rivera has one of the best radio shows out there  if you are a  talk radio fan like me......all of the big talkers call in and the average workaday citizen.  Geraldo lets them talk and have their say and that is a breath of fresh air in talk radio today.....particularly conservative talk radio.

Good job, today, Geraldo......thank you for letting us hear your very informative and inspirational conversation with President Alejandro Toledo of Peru.

I found this on Yahoo Finance talking about the interview:

Reporting George Noory of Coast to Coast AM to Media Matters for Constantly Bashing Our President

It's  one-sided journalism.

In fact,  it is not journalism at all!

Talking about  George Noory of Coast to Coast  AM, nighttime talk radio, for constantly bashing our President.

What can be done......it is so offensive to me.

Writing a letter to Media Matters in search of suggestions..................

Just wondering if you know what to do about Coast to Coast AM.

I listen to talk radio all of the time and I have always listened to C2C in the night..  I do know that  most of the talk radio is right wing, for instance on my stations in the car, but I still love local and national talk radio for the news and to find out what is going on politically........I like to hear both sides of the issue.

I am quite offended by George Noory on Coast.....he bashes President Obama every evening and I do not understand it.

In the first place I do not listen to the radio in the night to hear a political debate but for something interesting as I go to sleep.

George certainly has a right to his political opinion but he is completely one-sided.

He often has on Jerome Corsi but he never has on someone that favors the dems....at least when I listen.

He went on Sat night re:   the world is going to  hell in a hand basket theme and then Sun he again had an Obama basher quoting the bible.  I basically guessed where the guy was going but then he  had to sneak in a statement making a derogatory reference to our President's name.

I happen to like the President and our country and it just  makes me sick......I have  written about it on my blog....the ronnie re but  what else can be done.

I am really  quite upset about the situation.

I will put this letter in my  blog....please tell me if you have any suggestions.

thank you for your time,

Chloe Louise
