Dogs are paying tribute to hero police dog Diesel with #JeSuisDiesel
Dozens of people are posting tributes to Diesel, the police dog killed during a French anti-terror raid.
The seven-year-old Belgian Shepherd died after a female suicide bomber detonated her device after firing on officers in St-Denis as they stormed the hide-out of Paris attacks mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 27.
One police handler called Diesel’s death ‘like losing one of our colleagues’.
Twitter users used the hashtags #JeSuisChien and #JeSuisDiesel as they shared pictures of their own animals in solidarity with Diesel.
