Congratulations and good job to Nancy Grace on her interview with the parents of Michael Brown on her HLN show tonight.

Well done, Nancy.........

Nancy showed the feelings of the parents, how they were treated by the police and the sorrow they have suffered.

Nancy Grace also said she feels uncomfortable with the statements of the police officer that killed their son.

Officer Darrin Wilson said he was in fear for his life but Nancy said he did not have one bruise on his face or head.

Nancy feels like something is just not right with the prosecutor and the grand jury....she said the grand jury was used in an very unusual way when she talked about her upcoming interview on CNN today.

To the Ronnie Republic it is another kid killed at the hands of the police....I think it could have been handled differently.  I do like the police but in this case I think the officer should have used better judgement in the situation.

Thanks, Nancy, for telling us this important information.

Big Talker Larry Mendte 77 WABC AM Radio New York was just too harsh and one-sided on the situation:

Here we go with Alex Vitale from Al Jazeera America illustrating the point about excessive police force and why officers are rarely indicted:

77 WABC: Larry Mendte--Spotlight on A Good Reporter

Good listening this weekend to Larry Mendte........Sundays 7-9 PM on 77 WABC AM Radio New York......(that's Geraldo's station).

He also filled in for Geraldo Rivera on Monday morning in the 10-12 time slot.

Both of his shows offered plenty of new information and facts on the marijuana issue and the Seal Team 6 controversy.

Larry is well informed on the facts so again the listener is the winner because we get to hear new ideas about the topics being discussed.

Larry really knows what he is talking about--his good reporting skills shine through the conversation between Larry and the callers.

The people that call in have a respect for Larry Mendte--the callers are so well informed, too.

Larry is suggesting that marijuana will be legalized in New York just like Colorado and why not take the advantage of the financial opportunities at hand.

Larry told us that many of the original fears about the legalization of marijuana have been proven incorrect over time and fallen off the page one by one.

Larry also feels like the individuals talking about Seal Team 6--members of the team--should be allowed to talk about their activities resulting in the death of Osama Bin Laden.

Actually, Larry Mendte feels like these men should be celebrated as heroes, in this special circumstance, rather that take the silent approach preferred by the Seal Team members and those in charge in order to prevent giving away security secrets.

Thanks, Larry, for sharing with us your good reporting skills and plenty of pertinent information.

Other good listening from The Ronnie Republic Radio Round-Up.......

WABC Saturdays--Joan Hamburg--really funny interviewing Joy Behar and telling us what is happening on Broadway.

Bill Nighy and Winona Ryder in PBS Masterpiece's Worricker....it is so fun to see brilliant actress Winona Ryder again.

Noam Laden: Anchoring the Anchors at WABC Radio New York

3794353.jpg (604×453)

He takes the friendly common sense approach but his opinion and back up are always welcome at WABC Radio New York.

Listening to Noam Laden every morning as Geraldo Rivera's on air partner and newscaster his presence and voice easily smooths out any possible hint of a dust up between the hosts, today he is with my man Larry Mendte, and the callers.

Well, it has to be a show, it has to be interesting, right--Geraldo has that down to a science but when the heat starts to rise on Geraldo Street Noam is right in there to say the facts and give an equal voice to all of the opinions.

Noam Laden usually agrees with Geraldo Rivera but he also has no problem confidently voicing his opinion, as well--he is not worried about sharing a completely opposite idea from the host--the brilliant thing about Noam--his ability to say something without being offensive.

How does he share his honest views without creating anger--only if we could all do that.........

Noam Laden effortlessly fills in for Geraldo, respectfully interviews the callers and holds the reins for his own show discussing the news topics of the day.

Often said by The Ronnie Re......why not use home grown talent--the talent on hand, Noam Laden as opposed to less-prepared guest hosts.  The shouters usually have to be turned off--much rather listen to Noam than an angry shouter with incorrect facts just bashing our President.

Particularly appreciated are Noam's views about Israel and Palestine.  Always trying to understand the conflict in the Middle East--past and present--Noam often gives us his first hand experience about the situation since he has friends and relatives that actually live there.

It would be so valuable if Noam and Geraldo would do a Israel-Paestine History show because when they start talking in layman's terms they have a good way of letting the listener understand the current situation.

At the end of the day, Noam Laden and Geraldo Rivera run a good show because while they say their own opinion they are not afraid to discuss the opposite view and why it is there--the listener is the winner because we have the facts, the reasons why and we can form our own stance.

Thanks, Noam, well done and good job on the radio.

Now, Larry is talking......I love Larry Mendte, too because he continues to be my Facebook friend after I bashed him so bad over Hillary.  What more can you ask for.....he welcomes my comments.  Call me Karl Rove but it is the political conversation that moves things forward.

The unfortunate thing....Larry is wrong and I've got to let him know.......

1.  Chris Christie is a dynamic political figure--at first he was attractive because it seemed like he was honest and was saying to the citizens of New Jersey "I've got your back."

Now Chris Christie is only seen as a bully--he has shown his true self.  He will never receive the financial backing now to run against Hillary Clinton because he will be perceived as a bully and that will only pave the way to the White House for his female contender.

2.  As far as the nurse returning from Africa Christie wanted to quarantine against the threat of spreading Ebola.  Christie does not know what he is talking about.  Let him get the facts from the CDC......the science is on the side of the nurse.....Christie is basically running for president.  Let him find out the facts and the science behind them next time before he makes a spectacle of himself.

Larry Mendte WABC Sunday Night: Love to Agree and Disagree With Larry--from The Ronnie Republic Radio Round-Up

Black Leaders in Ferguson would like AL Sharpton TO go away! He just makes things worse. I will be talking about this tonight on 77 WABC. Listen in your car, online or on IHeart radio/

copied from the The Larry Mendte Show facebook page........

Dear Larry:  I have to tell you....we disagree on so much but apparently we really agree on a few things, too.  I listened to you on Geraldo this week and enjoyed your program showing both sides of the issues on the police and the recent events in New York.  It is so easy to be angry with the police but we have to remember they are people with emotions and families doing an extremely hard job.  It is a complicated situation.Should there be more public education about how citizens and the police should act when they want to arrest or question someone....because right now both sides are suffering. What about the idea of helmet or chest cameras.  I do not know the answer.

Here in Wichita the police came under fire for shooting a dog, a pit bull mix, who turned out to be a fine individual....but then I read a story 2 days later about a Grandma's dog that killed the baby......so how are the police suppose to act going into the situation...they lose either way......which dogs are killers and which are loose pets?

I happen to really like Al Sharpton and I have found his words to be soothing on many occasions.  If I was a citizen of Missouri I would want him there to represent me.  We can't keep gunning down our kids...I do not want the police to be a militia against our children.  All the kids act up but they should not die for it......yes, mine have  acted up, too.

I really wanted to say I appreciated your show about Robin Williams....I have always thought he was a genius but he was just too much for me.  Everyone loved him but to me he was angry and I was very angry with him for his final action.  So many people have been hurt and affected by his actions.....again, it was just too much and your show was actually very helpful.  Having said that Mrs. Doubtfire was the funniest movie I have ever seen in my life.    He was so complicated....so over the top......I shared many of your thoughts.

Keep up the good work........always listening to the radio....cl

Thank Goodness Geraldo is Back!!!!!

Geraldo Rivera
Geraldo Rivera--the boys are back in town
The one thinking Republican on the planet has returned to his radio show on WABC New York Talk Radio after his much needed vacation to Rome..........I'm jealous.

Seriously, my daughter wasn't in Rome 5 minutes before she said......have you seen the leather jackets here?  I just feel like it would be wrong to leave Rome without actually getting one.

Back to G/jay........got in a good go round with Alan Dershowitz about the recent collective punishment of the Palestinians from Israel.

My question.........why is Gaza/Palestine an occupied country.  How does anyone do anything.

Geraldo.....why not have someone like Doc Jazz on your show for an interview.  He is trying to bring the world together with music....and he is a surgeon...an average working successful individual trying to go on with the activities of daily living and suffering the trials and tribulations of occupation.  Lets chat with this regular work-a-day guy and see what he says.  Lets see......Doc Jazz.....what is your take on the current situation.  What are you good ideas to stop the violence.

Also we got to hear from my favorite talking cop, Bernie Kerik.  Love to hear his take on things.....my favorite part about Bernie.......he always speaks with a certain compassion towards police officers and the guys on the street in a way that is loving and refreshing.  It sends a good message out there for the police and the citizens.  Talking about stop and frisk and how it affects the officers walking the beat in New York City today.

Noam Laden, news/jay and fellow talker on the show shared with us his agreement and disagreement with Geraldo Rivera about the situation in Palestine since he does have family in Israel.

This Israel/Palestine situation is extremely difficult.  Geraldo said the one way for sure to wreck a media career in NYC is to bash the actions of Israel.

At the end of the day, Geraldo Rivera, is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in and suffer the heated radio back lash.

All the bashers that I had to endure while he was gone....Mad man Mendte, Stunningly beautiful and successful and stunningly incorrect Judge Jeanine Pirro; it was exhausting to hear them yell and shout.  Judge Napolitano was okay with his back and forth over police actions in the city.

The home grown talent of Rita Cosby and Noam Laden are always enjoyable as they can think, talk and disagree all at the same time without getting angry....who knew.......

Again asking the age old question.........will the talk show inspire new thoughts with chat and info about current events or shall we adopt the opinions of the shouting host.

I'm sticking with Geraldo Rivera on this one.

from the ronnie republic radio round-up.........and thank you to Larry Mendte for being my friend on facebook......welcome you opinion and thoughts.......cl
