Lovely Rita Cosby Rides Home with WABC Radio New York City: from the ronnie republic radio round-up

Rita Cosby Joins WABC As Co-Host of
“The Ride Home”

NEW YORK, May 19, 2014 – Cumulus announces that award-winning broadcaster Rita Cosby joins Pat Kiernan as co-host of 77 WABC’s “The Ride Home” beginning May 21st.

“The Ride Home” debuted in January of this year as the signature drivetime show featuring the latest information, insight and opinion on news, sports and pop culture with an emphasis on the New York area. “The Ride Home with Pat Kiernan and Rita Cosby” airs weekdays from 5pm-6pm.

Cosby said: “I am so delighted to join my friend and NY1 icon Pat Kiernan along with the rest of the 77 WABC family. While I’ve been fortunate to cover the biggest national and international stories for years, there’s nothing better than covering stories that touch the very cornerstone of my own neighborhood and place of birth, New York City

I’m excited to be a part of an exceptional and passionate team, bringing listeners context to the biggest stories impacting The Big Apple and showcasing some of the most noteworthy guests making headlines.”

Kiernan said: “Since launching the show earlier this year, we’ve put a great deal of thought into bringing on board a dynamic and top New York personality to join me in hosting the show. The search is over and I’m thrilled to welcome Rita Cosby, an acclaimed broadcaster and quintessential media star, to our team.”

Randall Bloomquist, Cumulus Corporate Programmer of News/Talk, said: “We're excited to welcome such an extraordinary journalist and compelling host as Rita Cosby to the 77 WABC family. Together, Pat and Rita bring decades of broadcasting experience and a proven ability to jump between topics and deliver the day’s most important news.  As New Yorkers make their way home at the end of the day, our listeners can look forward to being kept informed and entertained by two of the best in the business.”

Guests on Kiernan and Cosby’s first show together will include New York City Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and Martha Stewart.

Born in Brooklyn, Cosby brings a deep knowledge of the New York area to 77 WABC’s “Live & Local” programming. She is a renowned Emmy-winning TV host, veteran correspondent and New York Times best-selling author who anchored highly rated primetime shows on Fox News and MSNBC. As a special correspondent for a wide variety of leading national news programs, she has interviewed more than twenty world leaders, including five U.S. Presidents. Honors for the three-time Emmy winner include the Matrix Award, Headliner Award and Jack Anderson Award for journalism excellence.

Because of her “extraordinary journalism and exemplary service on behalf of her community,” October 11th, 2010 was officially named “Rita Cosby Day” in the state of New York. In 2011, she was recognized by the U.S. Congress for her professional achievements.

South Park San Diego: The Coyotes Go to the Dog Park Too

Canis latrans Français : Un coyote en Arizona
Canis latrans Français : Un coyote en Arizona (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Talking about the Grape Street Dog Park in The South Park, Golden Hills, Balboa Park area of San Diego.......this is adjacent to the municipal golf course in Balboa Park and also part of the Balboa Park Trails.

My friend and I often go to the dog park.....he was just telling me a coyote killed a dog at the park the night before last. It was around 8 PM

Apparently the coyote attacked the dog and paralyzed it by injuring the spine. The dog become incapacitated and unable to move. I guess the owner jumped in but nevertheless the poor dog had to be euthanized.
My condolences to everyone who has lost an animal and particularly to this family recently suffering this violent tragedy......my heart goes out to you.
Good luck to everyone....I recently just moved from Granada and Elm where coyotes and I shared the cement path going down to my house and the canyon.
Seriously, one evening I went out to walk Ronnie and I thought the neighbor's elderly Akita had gotten out as this large German Shepard type was lingering in the street.
You know the story.......the only way I finally figured out it was a coyote, as it looked huge and well-cared for......is that is acted exactly like Wiley Coyote and it had a very pointy nose.
I saw this twice around dusk........the coyotes just strolling down the street.
Honestly, the coyotes go to the dog park, too."
