Palestinian Heroes: Dogs Helping Dogs in Palestine

My beautiful friends in Palestine are under occupation.

While the people suffer under this terrible struggle the dogs and cats are suffering, too.

It is hard to focus on these very loyal animals when one if working so hard just trying to find water to bathe their children.

Shine a light on two people trying to help the animals.

Diana Geoerge Babish is focusing on the dogs and cats, and yes, even the turtles.

She has an animal shelter in Beit Sahour, just a few minutes south of Bethlehem.

Recenty visiting this very needed shelter for dogs one canot help but try to find a way to lend a helping hand.

We are so rich here in the United States--just wondering if we can assist this lady in any way.

It is not just money that she needs, but also promotion and education to the citizens of this struggling territory.

The day I was there Diana had just returned from taking a dog to the vet in Israel.

The dog had been hit by a car and pushed to the side of the road with broken legs.  Diana saved this dog after a call from a friend.  The dog was afraid and barking but Diana did not give up in her approach and finnally got the dog in her car and drove her to the vet.
Can you take these dogs home.......

Diana George Babbish is basically working alone in her efforts to keep her shelter going.

The dogs were spectacularly clean and well cared for and well fed.  They responded well to photos and they were friendly. too.

These dogs are ready for adoption, all of their shots and papers are in order and they are looking for homes.

We are talking about homes any where in the world.

Yes, it might be a little bit longer of a trip but if anyone can go over to Tel Aviv and pick up a dog Ms. Babish will be glad to assist you in all of the details.

No kidding, but she says it is cheaper to go there and get the dog than have it shipped seperately.

My other Hero:

Mr. Imad Qumsieh is running a very small Humane Society in order to instruct the folks and the children of the Palestinian area of the importance of the environment and the importance of the animals and how everything works together to make a better land for all of us.

Yes, this very kind individual is friends with a Palestinian Gazelle that he rescued as a baby.  The gazelle got really excited when he came near the enclosure and tried to get by him--it was very cute.
Imad Qumsieh was so happy to tell everyone about the Palestine Wildlife Society

Some of the workers do not get paid but donate their time in order to help the animals.

This small refuge is in need of promotion and supplies.
The new baby goat and the mommy--the baby was the star of the show on this day

It seems like we are experts in the U.S. in some of these fields.

Again, it is not just about the money but about culture, education and exposure.

These two hard working individuals are fighting for the rights of animals and for the right of people--it all works together.

The thing is Cenk has been right quite a few times now: How Ivanka Could End The Trump Presidency

Does Ivanka really expect anyone to take her seriously after her recent ridiculous performance in Jerusalem.

She claims to care so much about children but it would be nice if she could just be a little more informed about the issues of the Palestinians.

On a recent trip to Ramallah with Bike Palestine one is convinced the world does not really have an accurate view of the people and places of Palestine.

On the news we just see fighting--we do not see the lovely, historic cities, the food, the hospitality of the people, the religious sites, and the struggle the moms face in just trying to get enough water to bathe their children.

We do not see the settlements, the wall, the disturbing checkpoints.

We do not see the beautiful resorts.

We do not taste the hummus and the amazing falafel.

The candy and the nut and dried fruit shops in Ramallah--that alone is worth the trip.

Just asking--could Ivanka possibly take some time to be a little more informed about the situation.

We are happy for her she is real rich and beautiful--let her use her position to gain knowledge about others in our world that are less fortunate.

Let her not be so one-sided in her information base--it would be refreshing.

Ivanka Trump and her blatant lack of compassion for Palestine--Right, Remember Ivanka cares about children.

As it happened: At least 58 Palestinians killed and thousands injured by Israeli forces amid protests at US embassy in Jerusalem

Samuel Osborne, Bethan McKernan, Clark Mindock, Jeremy B White
At least 58 Palestinians were killed and more than 2,000 people wounded in protests at the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel, according to Palestinian officials, on the same day the US fulfiled its controversial promise to move its embassy to the contested city of Jerusalem.
Thousands of demonstrators set fire to tyres on Monday, sending thick plumes of smoke into the air to deter Israeli snipers. The Israeli military said the protests were being used as cover for attacks on soldiers.
It marked the deadliest single day of protests in a weeks-long campaign from Hamas in the run up to the US embassy move and the Nakba, or ‘Catastrophe’, on Tuesday - celebrated in Israel as the country’s 70th birthday.
The order given to Israeli soldiers was to prevent Palestinians from crossing into Israel at any price, including direct live fire. Israel has also warned Hamas that any mass breakthrough will result in airstrikes on the group’s infrastructure inside the Strip - with a number of targets hit by Israeli forces by the afternoon.
Please allow a moment for our liveblog to load
Hamas, the militant group that rules the Strip, had urged supporters to break through the 11-year-old Israel blockade, which has left Gaza "uninhabitable".
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the actions of the Israeli forces as a "genocide" and Israel as a "terrorist state".
"No matter from what side, whether from the United States or Israel, I curse this humanitarian plight, this genocide," he said.
Kuwait has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council amid international outcry over the clashes.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump's top aides and supporters on Monday celebrated the opening of the new US Embassy in Jerusalem as a campaign promised fulfilled.
Mr Trump's daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner, along with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, led the US delegation with a single message: Only Trump had the courage to act on what America has wanted for a long time.
“While presidents before him have backed down from their pledge to move the American Embassy once they were in office, this president delivered. Because when President Trump makes a promise, he keeps it,” Mr Kushner said in his speech.
In a recorded message played at the ceremony, Mr Trump said the embassy move was a "long time coming" but he remained committed to peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
“Our greatest hope is for peace,” said Trump, whose recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and relocation of the embassy to the holy city from Tel Aviv, has outraged Palestinians and drawn international concern.
“The United States remains fully committed to facilitating a lasting peace agreement,” Mr Trump said. “The United States will always be a great friend of Israel and a partner in the cause of freedom and peace.”
The relocation of the embassy from Tel Aviv has infuriated the Palestinians, who seek east Jerusalem as a future capital.

Seriously, what is wrong with Ivanka?
Yes, we are really happy for her that she is very rich but it would be nice if just once in a while she could look at the issue from both sides.
Is she blinded by her wealth and position.
Recently enjoying the markets and the delicious food in Ramallah on an extended tour from my favorite trip, Bike Palestine.
While we were enjoying coffee an older gentleman asked me what was wrong with donald trump--he has no respect for the Arab countries.  Moving the embassy to Jerusalem without giving a thought to the issues of the Palestians.
Does Ivanka know these very lovely folks have an issue just getting enough water on a daily basis to bathe their children.
Why is Palestine occupied.
The insult of these very kind Muslim ladies subjected in endless inquisition and giant guns just to ride the bus.
A suggestion from the Ronnie Re:
Let Ivanka ride the bus from Ramallah to Jerusalem--let Ivanka show her passport to the tune of giant guns and soldiers floating 3inches from her ear.
Just wondering......
Would Ivanka have any compassion for this situation--is Ivanka capable of imagining herself in this situation--does Ivanka worry abouy getting enough water to shower or bathe her kids.
Just wondering......
What do you think?

Apologizing for donald trump in Ramallah

On a recent trip to Ramallah:

One kept having to apologize for donald trump.

Yes, it was embarrassing........very embarrassing.

At the coffee bar:

A very lovely older gentleman asked me, "Where are you from?"

Finding my location of residence to be the United States they asked my opinion of our president with passion.

Explaining endlessly:  "He is not my president, I do not agree with him.  I do not like his policies."

Repeatedly explaining to these very friendly and welcoming individuals, "I do not like what he has done."

"He does not have respect for the Arab countries," was the common complaint.

Why is he moving the embassy to Jerusalem?

It is an embarrassment for an American to travel in the Middle East and constantly have to apologize for donald trump--our very misinformed and ignorant president.

What does the United States stand for if not respecting all citizens of the world.

The same thing happened again:

Have you seen the candy shops in Ramallah?

Seriously, the food alone is worth the trip.

All the vendors are friendly and willing to chat.

I love the nougat candy.

Just wanting to purchase one piece of candy the shop keeper insisted I take one for free and enjoy a delicious cup of Arabic coffee.

The same question is asked again--Do I agree with donald trump--he has no respect for us.

The folks in the shops were so nice--so willing to chat--well dressed and well spoken--so eager to welcome me into their shop.

Fellow Americans, this very, very ignorant and insulting individual who poses as our president is a huge embarrassment when one constantly has to apologize for his insults and lack of respect.

Let's see if we can't eliminate him in our next election so we can hold our heads up as we visit Palestine and the Holy Land

My gosh, what has this world come to?
