The majority of voters (women) want access to birth control.
The majority of voters (women) want abortion to be legal.
The majority of voters (women) don't think any rape is legitimate.
The majority of older voters (women) rely on Social Security and don't want it cut.
The majority of those on food stamps (women with kids) need the help.
The majority of minimum wage workers (women) want a raise.
The majority of voters (women) think they should be paid the same as men for the same work.
The majority of voters (women) know at least one husband who had a sleazy sexual relationship.
The majority of voters (women) respect the wife for getting through it the best way she could.
The majority of voters (women) don't want a female presidential candidate attacked for something her husband did almost 20 years ago that has nothing to do with her credentials, track record, ability, and yes, ambition.
The majority of voters (guess who?) know that if a man says he wants to win on his own terms he's tough and dedicated, but if a woman says it she's ruthless and bitchy.
Guess why the majority of voters (you guessed right) think your party is waging a war on women.

Each and every statement from Ms. Burk is true. Well written.
The Republicans have done nothing useful for years. When you have nothing to say, you attack the other side. Because your own record is at best blank, the best you can do is try to say well they are worse than us!
"The majority of voters (women) don't want a female presidential candidate attacked for something her husband did almost 20 years ago that has nothing to do with her credentials, track record, ability, and yes, ambition."

How about a female presidential candidate who rode to power as the wife of a sexual predator and worked actively to defend him in order to maintain her own political power?

How about a female presidential candidate who calls the female victims of a sexual predator in the Senate and their female supporters "whiny women" who needed to shut up because the then First Lady needed the Senator's vote for her government health care takeover?

How can the leader of a coalition of so called women's groups support and defend such behavior?
Ms Burk:

Hillary will have to answer all her questions first during the DNC Primary Election.

It has nothing to do with the GOP
If it has nothing to do with the GOP then why is presidential aspirant Rand Paul attacking her along with the head of the RNC, which also bussed people to the so-called March for Life on the mall last month. Wake up!
Right on target Martha. Nothing else needed.

Geraldo Bashes Ted: Rivera Blasts Nugent in the WABC Radio Round-Up

Thanks Geraldo and good job for being a republican but bringing to our attention the outrageous behaviour of Ted Nugent---perhaps he has cat-scratch fever and that is what's causing him to talk in such a wacky way.

Or he is just one of the regular whackadoodles of the GOP.

Texas Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott says Ted Nugent is accompanying him on the campaign trail.

Ted apparently made a comment about our President, the very well-spoken Barack Obama, and Geraldo said it was wrong--it was very wrong--so wrong I will not write it in this blog.

Geraldo said I have never heard the President referred to in this way and I do believe there is a touch of racism involved.

As a Hillary girl forever, right--I always liked President Obama but my first love was H.

But now, I think he will go down in history as one of the greatest presidents of the United States right after the other very great first lady president, Hillary Clinton.

It is hurtful to this blog writer to hear the president bashed in such an uncalled for way.

Why--what is the purpose of choosing offensive words--it's horrible.

It is hurtful to me and all of the people who love President Obama.

It's awful

The secret service should call on Ted again....he is out of line....he is scary.

Thanks, Geraldo for telling it like it is.

I do not want you to die--you are doing a good job--you are one of the few reasonable republicans.

here is Van Jones talking about it on real clear politics.....

Van Jones: "Ted Nugent's Crazy Racist Comments Have Me Outraged"

VAN JONES: I can feel your outrage. My outrage is -- also comes from the Texas governor's race. Republican Greg Abbott is getting some help from rocker Ted Nugent. It's Nugent's crazy racist comments that have me outrage. Now, I don't use that word lightly. Listen to this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TED NUGENT, MUSICIAN: I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod if not shame enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

JONES: Sub human mongrel. Now, that is language from the days of slavery. And I cannot for the life of myself understand why a leading Republican candidate would associate in any way with somebody saying stuff like this and a guy like this.

mother is bill o'reilly

"You're balling me out!"

That's what mother always says...

You're balling me out!

Mother shouts and then looks at me with the indignance of bill o'reilly.

Mother is bill o'reilly.

mother loves to make proclamations in an arrogant fashion.

What she says is true.

Its just when you're a kid it's hard to tell the difference of what is real and what isn't....particularly when someone is shouting what you perceive to be a fact at you....it's not until you are older and think about it that one may guess that tidbit you held onto forever may not be based on an actual truth.

You're too little--you don't have the where with all--you're hit with a blast--just trying to survive the blast not to decipher if the insult is true or false.

Back to balling out.....

I said, "People get angry when someone testifies in court against them for them to lose their children--on the side of the ex-husband, twice."

mother said she didn't do it.

I said, you did, I saw you there.

Mother said well, I really didn't say anything.

What's the point?..........

I get so angry with mother but she throws me out, or hangs up, or says real, real stupid things like...

Imagine, a daughter balling a mother out, why, I never would have balled my mother out.

She says with an unbelievable indignance. .....

okay...well, I'm just saying mother is frustrating....I'm really not a bad person.

but, most of all, thanks for reading.

mother always gets in everything and contaminates it

You see, I always knew, even from the time when I was little, not to listen to mother.

I always knew that.

I mean, I really knew it.

I always tell people I knew when I was 12 years old if I ever had children not to let mother take care of them.  I remember saying that to my self and I remember saying to myself I can't believe I am only twelve years old and I am saying that to myself.

But the problem is that mother is confusing.....

I can never get away from mother.  Mother always gets in everything.  She always gets in my business.

Why...it's like it is her career or something.

she always has to tell everyone what a bad person I am.

she always has to get with other people, people that do not like me, or certainly do not have my best interest at heart.......she gets with those people and makes an alliance.

Everyone that I know that knows mother thinks I am really a bad person and it is a good thing to do things against me.

They think it is funny and I deserve it.

My ex-husband said "Paybacks are hell" laughing as I complained I would never be able to live when he levied 800 dollars a month from my paycheck.

Yes, I ended up filing bankruptcy.

Yes, my credit was bad forever.

I've said to mother.....my ex-husband, of course I say his name, was not nice to me....he spent a lot of time insulting me......once in a while he hit me.

And mother always says.......

Well, even a dog, even a dog if they are backed into a corner will fight back.

Mother says I deserve it because I talk so bad.

Why, I fussed when I was two years old and accused of her things then.

I guess mother is always operating on the bad seed theory.

So here is the confusing part.....I also had my Grandma....possibly the greatest person that has ever lived on this earth.

She saved money for me to go to college from the time I was in kindergarten.  She said I was going to college.  By the time it was time for me to go to college she had me so brainwashed I never questioned the idea.

Grandma said I did everything so well.

One time I painted the linen closet when I was ten and Grandma said I did such a good job.  She said I did a really big job and then she told everyone of my brilliance at painting linen closets in my presence.  Oh, yes, I bought it hook, line and sinker.

Grandma was my saving grace....my savior...I think she wanted me to have a good life.

Back to college Montgomery Wards and the confusion of mother.......

But then mother said I had to sign over my bank account to her.......this was the money Grandma had spent all of this time saving.

I really did not know what was happening but I knew it was wrong.

Mother came to Montgomery Wards where I was working with the bank book and said I had to sign something because she needed money to remodel the bathroom.

Well, the whole thing was confusing because I was working.  You know, selling dresses to ladies in my hot pants.

Mother came in with her friend...her and the friend got mad when I would not sign the thing or whatever they wanted me to do.

The friend was Beatrice....she later divorced mother of their friendship because she treated her own mother, my Grandma, poorly, in the end.

I told mother that was why Beatrice divorced her, because Beatrice told me, but mother said that wasn't it at all.

mother is insane...or is mother insane...perhaps I'm insane as mother said.

Mother used to routinely say I was psychotic but I learned I was not harmful to myself or others in school so I told mother , actually I was not psychotic so mother said.

"Oh, well then you're neurotic."

You see,mother is confusing.

Can you see that mother is confusing?

One day, on Thursday, mother said I made her sick--she's always had a heart condition--there is not a specific diagnosis--and she had sold the house and I had to be out by the weekend.

this did put a hitch in my life as I went to school full time and worked part time at Montgomery Wards.
mother said you can join the navy, move in with Tom or move in with Grandma--I don't care what you do.

I'll stop now because the story sours here--I should have made better decisions and I did not.

I anyone reads this I would like to say thank your for your time.

George Knapp talks Jay Sarno--The Man Behind Modern-Day Las Vegas

I-Team: The Man Behind Modern-Day Las Vegas

Posted: Feb 14, 2014 2:26 PM PSTUpdated: Feb 14, 2014 5:00 PM PST
LAS VEGAS -- While some might think the father of the Las Vegas Strip is mobster Bugsy Seigel, or casino titans Kirk Kerkorian or Steve Wynn, the true architect of modern Las Vegas might be a self-described degenerate gambler named Jay Sarno.
While there is no statue to honor Sarno's memory, there is a new book that tells his amazing story, warts and all.
Sarno saw Las Vegas for the first time 51 years ago this month and he was not impressed. He was Las Vegas in human form, a bubbling cauldron of ideas and energy who indulged every dark desire and was eventually consumed by his lusts. But, along the way, Sarno created the twin pillars of Strip economics and inspired a new generation of casino titans.
The new book by David Schwarz is called Grandissimo, the name of what would have been the largest, most extravagant casino resort in the world. Sarno would settle for nothing less. Las Vegas in the late 50s and early 60s probably ranked as one of the raciest towns in America, but it was too bland in the eyes of ambitious hotelier Sarno.
"It was too plain. He didn't think the hotels were well built. He didn't think there was enough drama, so he said he could do better," said David Schwartz, the author of "Grandissimo: How Jay Sarno's Wild Life Changed Las Vegas."
Sarno was a small time businessman with big time dreams and an insatiable hunger for action, especially gambling. For Sarno, too much of everything was just enough.
"He really was Vegas personified. Whatever you had, he wanted more of it. So, if he would be betting $100 a hand one day, the next day it would be $1,000 a hand, then $10,000 a hand. It was always more and more," Schwartz said.
Schwartz, Sarno's biographer, writes that Sarno parlayed a seemingly odd-couple friendship with teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa into a Las Vegas empire. With teamster backing, Sarno's idea for a Desert cabana eventually morphed into the first fully-themed resort in Las Vegas, still the most iconic name in the casino industry -- Caesars Palace. Everything about the Roman resort was extravagant. Skeptics predicted that a joint so expensive would never break even.
"The entire hotel was about excess. You don't just go to dinner. You go to dinner and have wine goblets and people massaging you and peeling grapes and putting them in your mouth. Everything was over the top and people loved it. They still do," Schwartz said.
Caesars was a huge success. Sarno wallowed in it and lived like an actual Roman emperor by indulging all manner of appetites, balancing his very public persona with the responsibilities of a growing family.
Merely two years after Caesars opened, Sarno debuted another themed resort, Circus Circus, with himself as the ringmaster. While Caesars captured the high roller market, Circus was the first property aimed at middle America and families.
"At Circus he planted the seed for the low-end hotel, from the low-end to perfection. For awhile, they were the two most successful hotel casinos in the world."
Federal law enforcement viewed Sarno -- and many other Las Vegans -- with suspicion. Sarno's friendship with Hoffa was real, Schwartz says, but the Teamster loans came with strings attached meaning, casino employees who had mob ties. The feds wondered why rackets boss Tony Spilotro operated a gift shop at Circus Circus.
"Jay needed them to get the casino built. These are the guys with the money and if they were going to give you money, they were going to be in there. So, that was the bargain."
The IRS went after Sarno and his partner in a sensational case that dragged on for years. The defense team of Harry Claiborne and a young Oscar Goodman eventually prevailed, but the fight hurt Sarno's ability to put together the biggest project of his life -- Grandmissimo, a 6000-room luxury resort and mall featuring waterfalls and lush landscaping that may have inspired Steve Wynn's mirage a decade later.
"Would have happened in the late 70s if he got the money. He had the vision, but couldn't talk Wall Street into getting the money, which was really the final tragedy of his life."
Sarno died of a heart attack in 1984 while staying as a guest at Caesars Palace, the resort he built.
Today, Caesars is the flagship and namesake of the largest casino company in the world. Sarno's other property, Circus Circus, begat a second gaming empire that was later absorbed by MGM-Mirage. Steve Wynn has said that he was inspired by Sarno in his own reinvention of Las Vegas in the 80s. Las Vegas would still exist if Sarno hadn't come to town, but it would be a very different place.
