Finally...CNN gets a clue and plays George Stombo

and..........as I predicted.....

waiting, waiting, waiting weeks........

first its on, then its off, then its on........

the show was excellent.  George Stroumboulopoulos is a brilliant interviewer.   

Oh, he leans in........

Seriously, he has this interview thing down to a science.  Of course, I love Larry King, just like me he loves to ask questions, but, I do not know if he always loves  to have the table turned.  George conducted an excellent interview--Larry was very comfortable and we were so lucky to find out interesting things about his early life, how Larry feels about live television, working, even though he is no longer just starting out and just what makes him tick.

George's interview with Aisha Tyler, beautiful comedian and actress, writer and extraordinary personality was also brilliant.  This lady has so much to offer and George asked all the right questions.  She likes to make people feel comfortable and feel like they belong.  I enjoyed both of these interviews because they got to talk and tell their thoughts.  I really liked Aisha--she is actually inspirational.

His third interview with fight promoter Dana White was informational and scary as well, as he told about being intimidated for 2,500.00 by thugs of Whitey Bolger at the ripe old age of 21.  He immediately left town that day.

George Strombo has the knack for making the guest feel comfortable and that secret that most talk show hosts (not Larry King)  often never, ever get--to let the guest give us their very personable information that we can use--it might apply to us and be helpful and that's the coolest thing to achieve on a talk show.

George is serious and he acts interested--to put it simply--he is really very good.

Thank you CNN, for finally putting on the new George Strombo show--please don't take it off now that I like it and look forward to good info and talk.

Thank you George, that was a good job and I enjoyed seeing your new show.

'Stroumboulopoulos' finally returns to CNN tonight

Editor's note: "Stroumboulopoulos" did not air Friday night nor in its early Saturday morning rebroadcast. We did get a lot of repeats of Anderson Cooper and the George Zimmerman trial. We double checked @StromboCNN on Twitter and Facebook and they both said the program was going to air July 12.

We will update this story as needed. We'd like to see this program finish its run, but CNN isn't too eager to share our sentiment. Nor will CNN communicate with us on the pre-emptions.

"Stroumboulopoulos" is back on the air on CNN tonight at 11 pm Eastern as George Stroumboulopoulos talks to Larry King, Aisha Tyler, and UFC president Dana White. If this guest lineup sounds familiar, and it should, this was the episode CNN was supposed to air on June 28.

If you tried to tape the show on June 28, you got an episode of "Anderson Cooper Special Report" dealing with serial killers. Episodes of "Boston's Finest" aired the night of July 5.

Consistency of schedule is significant in determining ratings; a last-minute switch of the debut episode to a different night and this 2-week lull hasn't helped.

The last episode that did air (June 21) had an excellent lineup. Bill Maher along with Canadians Jay Baruchel and Ellen Page was the best show we've seen so far.

Chasing down information about the show and when it airs is difficult if you rely on the CNN Web site. Also, you can't find episodes to watch later on, in case of a scheduling mishap. The Facebook page for Stroumboulopoulos on CNN was a lot more helpful.

The show takes on a distinct tone compared to other talk shows. Too many of them are about promoting some hapless project, where George Stroumboulopoulos tries to have a conversation. I learned a lot more about Jay Baruchel (cat care) than I would have learned from any other source. Stroumboulopoulos made me like Henry Winkler more after that interview.

We realize that the "Stroumboulopoulos" experiment is only for the summer, and there is little to no chance that George will permanently cross into the United States. But the show is an opportunity to showcase a Canadian talent who appreciates other Canadian talent. And that show should be treated better than erratic scheduling.

Hopefully, the bumps in the road are gone, but we aren't holding our breath.

Hey CNN:  Where is the New George Strombo and Larry King

Gosh right when you get to like something and look forward to it they change everything!

I was really looking forward to seeing Larry King on the new George Strombo show on CNN.  I love Larry, I've watched him FOREVER  and I was waiting to see him all week.

I like to hear what Larry has to say--he's always positive and he is one of the best television interviewers in the business.  He says he's always curious and I am too and that's why I like him.

Friday night is not full of TV choices, as it is, for this news and PBS type person.

And now it's gone.......

And replaced with what.....more Anderson Cooper?  

Now, I like Anderson, I like him very much, but seriously, enough is enough. 

Actually, last evening Anderson Cooper's interview with the ex-wife of the father of Trayvon Martin was stunning.  I will remember it forever.  It seems like the father used her, of course she raised his kids and, by the way, loved them and took care of them, until he found someone new and then excluded her from information as if she did not have feelings.  It was tearful and hurtful for me.....It felt like she was totally used and I went away with a dislike for men.  

Anderson is talented.....but it is not the Anderson Cooper network....or is it?

If CNN would listen to me about what shows to put on I'd be a little happier....

Well, since you asked:

Right now I'll be watching, Fred and the legal boys....now if they change that there's going to be a high price to pay on my blog.

I'm still waiting for Style With Elsa Klench....Fashion Backstage Pass with Alina and her cute hairdoo will suffice nicely...on a weekly basis.

I'n not a fan of Mr Bourdain but the show on Libya was really enlightening.  I know everyone else really loves him--less of himself in that group and it would be a more tolerable situation.

  

Wait...what is happening right now....Fred and the boys are on early....are my clocks wrong...is it the heatwave, the cats......I've got to go.......
