Bad, Bad, Bad Bill O'Reilly

from the gawker

I guess this was not one of Bill "folks"....you know, the ones he is always looking out for

Bill O’Reilly Terrorized Another Female Fox News Staffer

Bill O’Reilly Terrorized Another Female Fox News StafferSEXPAND
Women might want to think twice before working for Bill O’Reilly. According to Gabriel Sherman’s new bookThe Loudest Voice in the Room, the top Fox News anchor grew so enraged at a female producer after a botched segment in 2003 that, in order to defuse the situation, “a senior Fox executive” intervened and escorted the crying producer out of News Corp’s Midtown headquarters.
“After one taping, he stormed toward his staff’s cubicles and tore into a young female producer, whom he blamed for botching a segment,” Sherman writes in Loudest Voice, which until today had been under a strict press embargo. “Staffers watched in shock as O’Reilly, easily a foot taller than the woman, started yelling and slamming his fist down on a shelf.”
“He got really close and in her face,” an onlooker told Sherman; “She was scared he was going to hit her,” said another. (The name of the producer is not revealed.)
Eventually O’Reilly vanished, after which “a senior Fox executive was called in and escorted the woman, in tears, out of the building to calm her down.” The famously vindictive anchor never apologized.
Sherman says the incident came on the heels of O’Reilly’s surging ratings during the build-up to the Iraq War. His rising stature within the right-wing network apparently created an environment where the anchor acted out against his own staffers with relative impunity. The most famous byproduct of O’Reilly’s toxic studio became public in 2004 when another female O’Reilly producer, Andrea Mackris, revealed that her boss had sexually harassed her in the early aughts—in one instance, by offering to pleasure her with a falafel—and threatened to destroy her if she ever told anyone about it.
Fox News declined to comment.

Bridge-O-Rama: A Good Day for Hillary Clinton and Anthony Weiner

You cannot say anything abut Hillary or Anthony in comparison to this bridge thing--this is bigger than everyone.

Well, what do you think........

Piers Morgan calls it–Ailes and O'Reilly snuggling with Christie
Hillary Wins–Christie Loses
Well, Piers Morgan called it correctly last night on his CNN talk show–obviously Chris Christie is the Fox News man for the White House.
Oh, right, the no spin zone–apparently they forgot to mention the giant news story that headlined every other news channel out there–the traffic on the bridge possibly caused by Republican front runner Chris Christie.
Right, no spin–O'Reilly did not mention it. In the "No Spin Zone"–who is this guy kidding. Why does he bother to make that statement. Perhaps, he did not see the giant story–the story that could affect who lands in the White House. Apparently, now, by ignoring it, Fox News Channel's hopeful.
How can this omission not be spin, the truth as O'Reilly likes to remind us. The truth as opposed to the lies on all the other stations. We can only hear the truth on Fox and O'Reilly.
The giant ego of these people is the truth.
It was suspected on this blog when Bill o'Reilly did not go ballistic over Phil Robertson and Duck Dynasty like all of the other ultra right wing types out there. No, in a moment of fresh air Bill
said Phil Robertson was being far too judgemental in bashing gays and he should take a clue from Jesus.
Does that mean Jesus is for Chris Christie, too......
Hillary will prevail. This is Christie's Benghazi. He may win this round but my girl, Hillary Clinton will win in the end.
There is no other Republican that can win at this time. The other whackadoodles out there can never win a big election.
The question remains..........
Will this be the signal for Jon Huntsman or Jeb Bush to jump in the race.
It's been said the big backing money is behind Chris Christie. Now the issue–will this change or stay the same. Will the Republican big boys stays behind Christie or look for someone else to do their bidding.
Will we learn the truth by the signals from Mr. O'Reilly?
Does Mr. Bill know what is going on out there from the bolder and fresher gig around the country. Will he talk to the regular "folks" out there. The regulars who pay 500 bucks a pop to chat on the meet and greet edge of the tour.,
Remember what Bill says–he is the only one looking out for the regular folks out there.

Bill O'Reilly Jumping on That Speeding Freight Train Named Chris Christie

I used to watch Howie regularly on CNN--never wanted to miss the show--and now it is sad to me to see him forced into agreeing with you know who, Bill O'Reilly.  Once in a great while it seems like he is sharing his opinion of what is happening on the news but more often than not Mr. O bullies him down.  He is almost forced to repeat Bill's thoughts and then smile about it.  I don't want Howie just agreeing all the time.

Has anyone else thought Bill O'Reilly is changing to meet Chris Christie somewhere in the middle.

He suggested Phil Robertson was too judgemental in the recent DD fiasco.

Is Bill trying to distance himself from the whackadoodles for survival.

Do you think he gets tips running around on the bolder and fresher tour from the big money "folks" he is looking out for--he is the only one doing that.  500 big one for the meet and greet here in San Diego.
Is he worried about his own survival, the show's survival, his position in the republican party and the survival of the republican party.

Is this due to the fact that the big money folks are indicating they are ready to get behind Chris Christie--the only sane repub ready to hit a grand slam for the party in the big election coming up.

Just an idea but I do not think the tea party can survive the big one and it seems like Mr. O does have that political foresight.

Will he do anything to have the gov, Christie on his show and to share his attention?

He was quiet in order to have Sarah Palin on the show.

Unless Jeb Bush jumps in to save the country from us dems.

Well, what do you think?

Ann Coulter, Jesus Christ, and Santa Claus

If Ann Coulter can’t be trusted (see Never Trust Ann Coulter – at ANY Age), why do so many conservatives trust her? Sometimes she gets things right and stands her ground for truth. (Complications arise, however, when she as equally fervently expresses falsehood.)

Entering into an already ongoing racial debate sparked by Fox News commentators and Coulter’s own tweets, Piers Morgan recently posed a series of questions to Coulter regarding the race of both Jesus and Santa.

Regarding the Savior, Coulter was accurate: “As for Jesus, Jesus is a real person. He was a Jew. I mean, if you want to tell me Jews aren't white, OK. But he's Jewish. So, whatever that is.” Repeatedly pressed by a contentious Piers who could not accept that reality, Coulter amplified her remarks: “Well, he's not black, he's Middle Eastern. Maybe he's sort of beige, Piers.” For the record, Jesus was biblically and historically Jewish and, thus, light-complexioned.

Coulter’s views on Santa are a bit more problematic. “But I met the real Santa Clause and he is white.” Santa Claus is a fictional character inspired by an historical figure, a 4th-century Greek Christian bishop. Our contemporary picture of Santa Claus derives from an 1881 illustration which was created in a dominant white milieu.

Of course Santa Claus in America was white – in 1881. But Santa is a fictional figure and his race has no bearing on who he is and what he does. Santa transcends race. (Just as Jesus does.) Every individual and culture can envision Santa as they choose. Christmas is celebrated worldwide by a variety of different customs, in diverse cultures, with different representations of Santa.

Coulter, Piers, and others who emphasize the race of Jesus Christ and Santa Claus are entirely missing the point because they are focusing on something relatively inconsequential – race. They miss the point of Christmas – the universal love of God and Jesus Christ’s birth as Savior of the world.

It’s not about race, it’s about God’s gift to mankind.

Geraldo Radio: Mondays With the Commish

It's a pretty good radio show if you like interesting conversation and information.

That's Geraldo--He even accomplished a lively conversation about the new Pope and the views of an atheist group without angry shouts--as usual we got to hear both sides.

Everything to the most conservative views from Geraldo home, Fox News to angry New York Grandma calling in to tell Geraldo he is protecting President Obama too much "You better not be feeling so sorry for him, Geraldo," the angry granny did not mind shouting at a high pitch.

As usual, Geraldo Rivera lets everyone say their opinion, take it in and say his idea even if it is disagreement.  No one ends up angry and we get to hear all of the views on both sides of the issue.  How does Geraldo do it. It is an art form this radio guy has perfected.

Today he is starting "Mondays with the Commish."  Geraldo Riversa says he will have his friend, Bernard Kerik, the past Police Commissioner of New York City on every Monday morning to discuss the current news items that involve police protection to the citizens.  This morning they talked about legalizing marijuana--Bernard says he is personally not for it but all the states need to get it together as far as the laws--it is not the same degree of crime everywhere.

Geraldo says he would like to see pot legal right now.

Bernard Kerik would not give amnesty to NSA leaker Edward Snowden because he has caused so many security problems for our country--he just can't see it.

Talking about the Short Hills mall car hijacking this past weekend, Mr. Kerik said he imagines everything, especially an upscale mall has surveillance and it is just a matter of time before these people are caught.  This is near an area, Newark, where car jackings can still be a regular and profitable occurrence.  The unfortunate thing is that the criminals were so bold they killed the man before they hijacked his Range Rover.

Bernard Kerik also talked about the inclusion of John Miller joining the new police commissioner and he thought Mr.Miller would indeed be an asset to the force.

He talked about extreme prison sentencing for drug offenders that is too harsh and out of line.  He thinks that felony conviction is "slaughtering" to the individual and the family.

Talking about Geraldo's show on Fox News on Saturday night--Geraldo reported on the ease of getting very hard drugs compared to the difficulty of getting medical marijuana.

Good job, Geraldo and former New York top-cop Mr. Kerick--I really enjoyed the show and hearing your opinions.

At the end of the show the stolen Range Rover was indeed found in Newark.  I am sad for that family--the car was found but not the jacker.

Geraldo Rivera is on WABC radio in New York every morning--easy to listen to on the comp. just google WABC--that is 7 AM in San Diego.

Thank you, Geraldo, for telling us about New York and the news today--it is a good way to eat breakfast and start the morning.

Here is a story about the release from prison of Bernard Kerik:

Geraldo Talks Cuba and Raul Castro

Geraldo Rivera: The Blockade And The Handshake

  • 454753083.jpg
    2013 GETTY IMAGES
Fidel Castro sucks; so does his brother Raúl, his successor as ruthless, human rights trampling Cuban dictator. There, I got that out of the way, so don’t hyperventilate for a minute and give me a chance to explain why I think it was perfectly appropriate, indeed smart, of the president to shake Raúl Castro’s hand at the Nelson Mandela memorial services in rainy South Africa this past Tuesday.
Further, I hope the handshake is the gesture that accelerates a long overdue easing of the harsh U.S. policy toward Cuba, which since 1960 has been one of unrelenting hostility and confrontation. For 11 successive American administrations beginning with President Dwight Eisenhower, who ended diplomatic relations with Cuba and put in place the first economic embargo, and John F. Kennedy, who launched the failed 1962 Bay of Pigs invasion, we have sought to undo the Cuban revolution that overthrew Fulgencio Batista, another ruthless, human rights trampling dictator who was at least pro-American.
Fueled by a half century of resentment and bitterness over the uncompensated seizure of their homes and businesses by Castro’s communists, the exiles have been unrelenting in their insistence that the United States be as unforgiving as they are toward the Castro regime.
- Geraldo Rivera
Having experienced two extended assignments in melancholy Cuba, the communist-ruled Pearl of the Antilles, I have a fair grasp of how sad things are still for the 11 million prisoner/residents on Castro’s island. Cut off from the two million Cubans who have managed to flee to the United States and elsewhere, island residents today are largely supported by that Diaspora, those sons and daughters of Cuba who live abroad. Since restrictions were modestly eased in 2011, Cuban Americans can now send food, cash and other aid to their oppressed and impoverished relatives still on the island. From Miami’s Little Havana to Hudson County New Jersey, that $2 billion a year in family remittances have become one of the mainstays of the Cuban economy.
What is the point of what remains of the embargo? As then Senator Barack Obama said in 2004, “The Cuban embargo has failed to provide the sorts of rising standards of living, and has squeezed the innocents in Cuba and utterly failed to overthrow Castro, who has now been there since I was born. It is now time to acknowledge that that particular policy has failed.”
Similarly, Bill Clinton was scornful of the embargo. In his book “The Clinton Tapes, Wrestling History,” Pulitzer Prize winning historian Taylor Branch says President Clinton “…confided on tape that the embargo was a foolish, pandering failure. It had allowed Castro to demonize the United States for decades … The president said anybody ‘with half a brain’ could see the embargo was counterproductive.”
But like Bill Clinton, who was severely trashed by the Cuban exile community over his handling of the wrenching 1999 Elián González controversy in which a refugee youngster was returned to his Cuban father over the objections of stateside relatives, President Barack Obama caved once he got into office, losing the courage of his earlier conviction about easing the 51-year-old embargo. Although both presidents felt that our embargo of Cuba was a counterproductive relic of the Cold War, they lost their nerve when it came to reforming relations with our neighbor 90 miles from Key West. They had seen the brute political power of the Cuban exile community, when almost single-handedly it wrenched the 2000 elections from the hands of Democrats in Florida.
Fueled by a half century of resentment and bitterness over the uncompensated seizure of their homes and businesses by Castro’s communists, the exiles have been unrelenting in their insistence that the United States be as unforgiving as they are toward the Castro regime. The result of their intransigence is the current hostility where they are still uncompensated; their family members on the island are suffering as much from embargo-related economic deprivation as from political oppression, and their adopted country, the United States, is ridiculed for a foreign policy out of step with virtually every other country on earth.
In 2013, the United Nations for the 22nd time passed a resolution condemning the U.S. trade embargo against Cuba. The vote was 188-2. Of all the governments representing all the rest of the human race, only Israel sided with the United States. That score again, Cuba 188, the USA 2. The 188 who voted against us include Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, Germany, Mexico and Britain, all major trading partners with Cuba.
Like I said at the top, Raúl Castro is a ruthless, human rights trampling dictator. In that regard, he is much like the ruthless, human rights trampling dictators who run China, Russia, North Korea (where 34,000 Americans died in a brutal war) and Vietnam, (where another 50,000 Americans lost their lives in another brutal, decade-long war). In fact, Castro is more like the ruthless, human rights trampling dictators that run most of Asia and half of Africa. And yet we do business with all of them, except Cuba.
The handshake was smart. The embargo is dumb.
Geraldo Rivera is currently host of "Geraldo at Large" on Fox News Channel (FNC), which is also nationally syndicated by Twentieth Television. Rivera recently celebrated 40 years in journalism.

Right, Geraldo, it is odd when you go to other airports around the world and see Havana as a destination.  To us it might as well be another planet and to other countries it is just another city.

O'Reilly "goes O'Reilly" on Al Sharpton

Talking about Mr. Bill O'Reilly spinning the brilliant reception of President Obama in South Africa at the ceremonies for Nelson Mandela.

He was received as a world leader--black citizens of all countries are part of the world--that is where you are making your miscalculation--who are the citizens of the world--not just the "folks" of Mr. O'Reilly. One must take their head out of the sand at these times.

Unfortunately Bill shows his colors in a strange and weird way once in a great while.  During the 50th of the JFK assassination Bill said on on more than one occasion that the sentiment of the nation towards Barack Obama was the same as it was right before Kennedy was killed.  He said it twice and when a listener wrote in to complain he said it again more adamantly defending his position.

What exactly was he trying to say.  It was reported in The Ronnie Republic but not noticed in the major networks or publications.  Bill very much wanted to talk about some people's dissatisfaction with our President but he did  not mention the great praise he received just this week at the stadium  for Nelson Mandela.  It was strange when all of  the networks were showing  the adulation for our first black President and commenting on this great  accomplishment that Bill had to take this opportunity to say Nelson Mandela was a communist.  Instead of reporting on the grand reception of President  Obama, like all of the other news outlets Mr O'Reilly went on a hate filled rant against the Reverend Al Sharpton.

Bill can't say the hate he feels to President Obama or he would be in big trouble.  No, he rails on Al Sharpton endlessly.  It is quite ugly at this time.

Not to mention he claims he has the no spin zone and the news is fair and balanced  on his show and  truthful.

His reporting is the biggest example of "spin" out there.  Nice try, Bill, but you were caught on this one.

Bill Maher Gets on His Knees For Sarah Palin

That's right, that is this dems fantasy.

Hey, the lady gets to talk.

Bashing Bill O'Reilly daily, there is just so much material, for a liberal left blog but giving credit where credit was due seemed appropriate.

Bill said on more than one occasion he wanted Mrs. Palin on his show but she just was not willing to take the option.

Who's driving the media car now.......

While Chris Matthews loves to go on about his education, his experience and his intellect he might want  to take time to realize Sarah Palin has the media savvy of Princess Diana--the likes of which he does not.

Who is actually out there in television listening land, who are the folks?  Is it all political Washington zealots like Chris--or do the midwestern conservative moms and cooks prevail.  Let the political conversation move forward with cooks and moms and men and women of both parties.

Bill O'Reilly, in all of his arrogance, apparently realized a change had to take place if he wanted to reach his often stated goal of interviewing Sarah on his show.

Sarah Palin:  sought after by the media......

He knew he had to let her talk without trying to annihilate her as he bragged more than one time about his interview with former New Mexico governor, Bill Richardson.  Is it a wonder why anyone would not want to go on his show.

You have got to keep your mouth shut or you are going to go without.

Well, Bill learned his lesson and Sarah went on his show, talked about her political goals for the Tea Party, what the Tea Party stood for, her recent go-round with MSNBC's Martin Bashir, and also shared her recipes.  Bill gave a chuckle as if that was not important--dem or repub, this lady loves to cook and that's  important info on this blog.

Women get to talk  without a sexual slur--a slur Mr.Maher said, as if he thought he was justified because he was funny.  A statement that had no real answer.  How should Sarah Palin have responded to the horrific thing Bill Maher said.  There was no reasonable response or retaliation and as a lady that loves to talk and say her political opinion it was really resented.

Democratic Ball and Chain, Bill Maher...

Well, will he ever learn?  Will he take a lesson from Bill O'Reilly?  Can he ever be humble and forgo an opportunity for humor.  As if he is not already super funny and successful--was his comment really necessary.  Does Bill Maher realize Sarah Palin is controlling the media now--even with her outrageous statements--isn't that what all the big mouth guys are after, anyway--media attention.

Take a lesson Mr. Maher from you adversary Bill O'Reilly and let's see who can top him in ratings.

That's this dems fantasy--looking for humility from Bill Maher.

Bill O'Reilly Gets On His Knees For Sarah Palin

That's right, I bash Bill just about every day--but let's give credit where credit is due.

While Democrat is definitely my base and I disagree strongly with the politics of Mr O'Reilly and Mrs. Palin it's good to hear what they have to say--love the political conversation.

Bill had Sarah on his show this evening--after complaining last week she refused too join him on the air--is it a wonder why?

Bill let Sarah Palin talk without interrupting.

Boys, get out of the way for Mrs. Palin because she is running the media now.

Who's in charge.  This lady has more media expertise than Princess Diana.

Good job, Sarah, for taming the wild shrew of Mr. Bill O'Reilly.

Well done in getting the media to come to you without pandering to all of those loud mouth guys--anchor men.

And good job to Bill O'Reilly for letting his guest talk about her book and her views without an attempt to over power--he minded his manners.

What is this world coming to and what will happen next.?

Let's see if Bill Maher can show the same courtesy as Bill O, I doubt it.

Bill O'Reilly: His Christmas Gift to Jon Stewart

Erik Wemple

Jon Stewart of ‘The Daily Show’ rips Bill O’Reilly’s Christmas activism

On his Dec. 2 show, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly vowed to “keep an eye” on the so-called War on Christmas. In what’s clearly a not-too-fruitful search for 2013 war-on-Christmas grist, O’Reilly fixated on Macy’s. “This year they’re touting Santa Claus who will help you, quote, ‘With your holiday wish list,’ ” declared O’Reilly, who would prefer that the department store say “Christmas wish list.” More O’Reilly: “So here is my question to Macy’s. What holiday is Santa celebrating? Winter solstice, the birthday of a reindeer — what?”
And that was plenty enough for Jon Stewart, who used a segment of his “Daily Show” program to poke at the war on the War on Christmas. He appeared a bit fatigued by this quite predictable issue, noting how “we do this dance every year.” When Stewart asked what makes this year particularly noteworthy in the tyranny of “happy holidays,” he turned to O’Reilly’s argument about timing: “What is interesting this year is that Hanukkah will be over on Thursday. So there are no more holidays between then and Christmas Day. It’s just Christmas if you want to invoke happy. Bad news for the secular progressives,” said O’Reilly. Stewart ridiculed the notion.
The back-and-forth between O’Reilly and War-on-Christmas detractors like Stewart is a merry pursuit, a staple of the “holiday” season. Last year a poll by Public Policy Polling found that 47 percent of respondents believed this war existed, as opposed to 40 percent who did not. Thirteen percent fell in the “not sure” category, a demographic that O’Reilly and Stewart have gotten an early start on influencing this year.

Bill O'Reilly: Punishing in the name of Jesus

The butler of bilge, Bill O'Reilly, loves to try and hide behind Jesus.  This gets into the religion thing--justifying hate with Jesus and religion.  Jesus might love the people Bill wants to deny and judge.  Jesus may even love Bill and let him be a lesson for all of us.  It's confusing but I wish Bill would not try to talk for Jesus because I love Jesus, too.  Bill is tainting my idea of Jesus.  Personally I love Jesus, all religions, atheists; I really love Ron Reagan and cats, and the United States and President Obama---there.

Are all Catholic men this punishing?

Bill O’Reilly: Jesus is not ‘down with’ food stamps because most poor people are drug addicts (via Raw Story )
No one knows what Jesus would do to feed today’s poor, hungry Americans — but Fox News host Bill O’Reilly is pretty sure the Christian savior wouldn’t be “down with” giving them food stamps because it’s “their fault.” After Rep. Jim…

Hey Boys, Mrs. Sarah Palin is Talking Now!

While my politics are opposite of Ms. Palin I support her right to say her opinion Image result for sarah palinin the media just like all of the big mouth men.  Bill, Martin and Chris Matthews are so busy congratulating themselves on their own intellect they fail to realize that Sarah has out smarted them all.  She is a media manager to rival the likes of Princess Diana.  Guess what, boys, you are busy groveling after her and asking for her attention.  Who is in the media now.  Oh, and don't forget the biggest fool of all, Bill Maher.

Talking about Bill O'Reilly complaining to Howie Kurtz that Mrs. Palin will not do his show.....

Chris Matthews, holier than thou, can't get the guts to answer.......

copied from the Washington Post:

Erik Wemple

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews weighs in on Martin Bashir fiasco. Sort of.

Martin Bashir, in 2007 (Nick Ut/Associated Press)
Martin Bashir, in 2007 (Nick Ut/Associated Press)
Put Chris Matthews before a Washington audience, and the guy can riff on a lot of topics. In an appearance yesterday at Barnes & Noble in downtown D.C. to promote his book “Tip and the Gipper: When Politics Worked,” Matthews talked congressional elections, presidential elections, President Kennedy — not to mention the media. On the topic of Fox News and Rupert Murdoch, the cable host said no one really takes too seriously the “fair and balanced” slogan. However: “They believe it’s balancing the rest of the media. And so there’s a sense among the right — it’s still there — if you’re not on the right, you’re a liberal. So if you look like you’re just sort of reading the news, you’re a liberal, unless you['ve] got their attitude. And so, I think that’s the residue of years and years of liberal domination of the mainstream press, which I think is pretty near an end. … I don’t know where Diane Sawyer’s politics are. I don’t know what Brian Williams’s politics are. Or Scott Pelley’s, if he has any. I don’t know what it is. Tell me if you can tell. I can’t tell. I think [George] Stephanopoulos has played it down the middle.”
Moments later, the Erik Wemple Blog* asked Matthews about this week’s MSNBC-centric media news. Martin Bashir, an afternoon host at MSNBC, apologized on Monday to viewers after having suggested that Sarah Palin be subjected to a cruel treatment once forced upon slaves. Palin had previously compared the burdens of public debt to slavery.
The contrite words of Bashir didn’t diminish calls within the media-critic industry for more accountability from MSNBC’s leadership. So we thought we’d ask Matthews about it all. The back and forth:
EWB: Do you have any comments about the trouble that Martin Bashir got himself in?
Matthews: Not really. I work in that company. I don’t have any comment on it. I can understand that you’d ask the question, but I work for MSNBC.
EWB: Well, it’s just a question, though. I mean, he’s a colleague, he said something. You have opinions. You’d have an opinion if someone else worked at another network…
Matthews: I’m not a media critic.
EWB: Oh, yes you are.
Matthews: No, I’m not…He’s a colleague of mine.
We’ll keep an eye out for the next time Matthews hammers some cowardly politician for closing ranks. The noteworthy aspect of Matthews’ dodge is how unnecessary it is. He could easily proclaim that his colleague’s remarks were wholly unacceptable — that they were neither accurate nor fair. Those were the very terms, after all, that Bashir himself used in his apology.
*(Though we didn’t disclose our affiliation with the Erik Wemple Blog, Matthews was speaking at a public event.)
